OIL Change - Oil Light...
Just changed my oil and filter.
How do I get the little OIL warning light off my HUD?
How do I reset the Oil "LIFE"?
Thanks!

So, bring it up on the DIC - as in to where it reads "Oil Life"?
...that is another thing, the Oil Life has disappeared and when I cycle through, I am not seeing it. Maybe I am being a cadet and just missing it.

Here is what my 04 manual says.
How to Reset the CHANGE OIL SOON
Message
The GM Oil Life System calculates when to change
your engine oil and filter based on vehicle use.
Anytime your oil is changed, reset the system so it can
calculate when the next oil change is required. If a
situation occurs where you change your oil prior to a
CHANGE OIL SOON message being turned on,
reset the system.
To reset the CHANGE OIL SOON message after an
oil change, do the following:
1. Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off.
2. Press the TRIP button so the OIL LIFE percentage
is displayed.
3. Press RESET and hold for two seconds.
OIL LIFE REMAIN 100% will appear.
4. Turn the key to OFF.
If the CHANGE OIL SOON message comes back on
when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system
has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

I change the oil every spring, when I put the car back on the road. I seldom remember to reset it.....I think I've reset it 3-4 times, at most, in the 16 years I've owned the car..........and the "change oil light" has never come on.

The oil can light in the HUD is there because someone has the display set to show oil pressure in the HUD, the vertical bar graph to the right shows oil pressure. If I remember correctly you can chose from 3 different options for this graph. Oil pressure, fuel level (image of gas pump shows in place of oil can) and also coolant temp (with appropriate icon).
Do you have an owners manual? It shows the different options and how to change them.
On a side note there is also a shift light in the display for manual trans cars. It lights up just under the the top of rpm graph when you get close to red line.
