Help with wheels that work with a c6 z06 brake upgrade
Hi, I am in the process of upgrading my c5 brakes front and back to c6 z06 front and rear brakes. My dilemma comes in the wheels I need to fit around these new calipers and rotors. I bought a new set of wheels and the brakes from a company and the wheels were supposed to be guaranteed instock, put aside, and mine; something goes wrong when I get a call stating the company can't get my wheels. So, now I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a set of wheels that will work with these brakes.
My car is just a base model 99 c5 corvette.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I'll keep everyone up to date as I go along and post my findings and progress. At one point I was ignorant enough to believe having c5 z06 brakes meant something; boy was I ever kicked in the nads to learn they are just standard c5 brakes with powder coating on them.
So, finally, after several years of owning the car, I decided to branch out and get some real stopping power. The brakes I had were fine while the car wasn't supercharged but I'd like that comfort of knowing I've got some actual stopping power. I am very stoked to get everything on the car (of course when I find all the right parts) and give this sucker a good push.

OEM C6Z wheels will work as will C6 Grand Sport wheels, but poke out some. REAR 18x10.5 C5Z wheels will work at all four corners. Forgestar F14's are known to work. CCW makes low lip offset wheels to clear big brakes (I have SP500's on my car with C6Z brakes) but they're spendy. Don't try repro C6Z wheels or others that are repro's, they're known not to work.

No changes other than I added a set of DRM Brake Hoses with the new brakes. Went with well rated but inexpensive Stoptech Street Performance single piece pads ($130 for BOTH axles). They bite a TON harder than the upgraded C5 stuff did. Put them to the test a couple of times back to back giving a buddy and his girl a joyride to 150+, separately obviously.
It's REALLY straight forward. When you install the calipers make sure the bleeders are pointing up. Plug and play otherwise. I DO recommend better brake hoses (I believe you need the extra length, but the DRM's are REALLY nice with the steel -an fittings).

I appreciate the info on the lines; I'll look into those DRM hoses.
I couldn't help but notice you have one hell of a turbo setup on your car. That's awesome. I'm not laying down the hp you are with the blower but I am curious what tires you are running to hook all that power up? Running 19's and 18's, I've been running Michelin sport cups; the michelins have been the only sticky tire I could get for those size rims.

I've got 305/35-19 Nitto NT05R's out back. When I first had the setup it was 305/35-18 Nitto NT555R's (was at 761/760 RWHP/TQ) and they were on the ragged edge. Sold the car in 2010, bought it back in 2015 and it came back with Mickey Thompson 305/35-18 ET Street Radials which hooked HARD. Put the SP500's in a 18/19 combo on right after buying it back and the NT05R's hook as hard if not harder than the Mickey's.

Thread with pics of tsw and c6z06 also with straight down view of wheel spacing.

I second the statement of getting the longer brake lines. Mine is a bit tight when on jack stands.

I'm pretty sure these wheels are from OE Direct and clear my R1 8 piston 355s, my TSW Panoramas also clear. Both are 18's the C6Z setup is similar in size. FWIW my stock thin spokes could have cleared too with a small spacer.
Edit, can't find a tsw pic

Can you post more pix of your car and wheels?
