My 02's hatch pops up sometimes in the garage. In my case, it's definitely NOT the factory key fobs as I don't use them. In fact, they don't have batteries in them.
My girlfriend drives my 02 more than I do and if the hatch popped up while she was behind the wheel, I have no doubt she'd poop her pants as she is nervous as heck driving it already.
