Default Help pricing my C5

It has been a good run. I have had my C5 for 12 years and I've certainly enjoyed it but I think it time to let it go. Can you guys help me out determining a fair price for it? It has a lot of mods so I know that can make pricing (and selling) difficult.
$13.5k-$16k seems to be the asking price of a bone stock '98 in very good condition (auto-trader)
Obviously I have spent a lot of $ in mods (around $25k - not including labor). I obviously don't expect to recover all that but I'm not going to give them away either. It may make sense to return to stock and sell the parts separately.

That sounds about right.
As for your mods, add up all the mod costs, then divided by 10, and then add that to the price of the stock car. Sorry, but that's about what they are worth.

$25k in parts (NOT including labor) is worth $2500? Perhaps you are including labor costs? I did the work myself but I would imagine parts and labor would put me at $40k easy. Still, I could pull the supercharger off the car in less than an hour (including tune) and sell that within 30mins for $4k (your logic says its worth $400).

I disagree with your logic of a part on a car is worth 1/10th of a part off the car, however if people would expect to get $25,000 worth of parts for $2500 (or $40,000 worth of parts/labor for $4000) they won't be getting that from me. If this is the expectation, then the best approach would be to return it the car to stock and sell the parts separately.

Since I do the work myself it would be reasonable to expect $15k for the parts and $13k for the car easy. I don't expect to sell my car w/ parts for $28k but I would be stupid to sell it for $15k.

I don't have the silly mods like mesh inserts or stick on trim accents. All my mods are exactly what people who mod cars actually want...and they are worth 1/10th the value because they are bolted to car vs sitting on a work bench? That is silly sir.

What would you take for it? Add a couple grand and start there. There is a very limited market for a car like that.

Maybe the reason we all drive C5s rather than C7s or better is because we make stupid decisions like selling 40k of parts and labor for "a couple grand".

That was the purpose of this thread. To determine what I should ask for it. Check the post above yours (titled "OFFICIAL SALE")

$20K to the right buyer. All depends on how fast you want to sell it. Car like that priced too high will sit for months, possibly a year.

Just a thought - pull and sell supercharger and NOS separately. Change to the correct injectors w/out supercharger and have it tuned - your build looks like it would make a very nice N/A set-up. You may net more $s and increase the buyer pool too.

Very good idea!

Tuning won't be a problem as I have HP Tuners...which will come with the car.

Are you going to inform potential buyers that the car was once supercharged and had NOS?

I guess you should check eBay (completed listings, not asking prices) and the C5 for sale section. See what modded cars are going for. I think you'll be in shock. If you even get close to $40,000 for her, I'll faint. If you get $30,000 for her, I'll take a knee.
I'm not trying to be a dick, just rational. It's a 19 year old car. Just because it's worth allot to you doesn't mean that's what you'll get for it.
Just for the heck of it, I went to eBay, checked 1997-99 sold prices. Out of 141 listings, nothing has sold over $25K including a mint 1998 Corvette Convertible Supercharged SC 6 Speed with only 33K miles. Times are tough for modified cars.
I think your best bet is to take the aftermarket parts off and sell separately. But again, you might be expecting too much as you think you can get $4,000 for a used SC system. A new SC system can be had from A&A for $5,500.

I would not buy a car that once had a supercharger and NOS. There is only one reason to have them on a car.
