Laser is not undetectable. But it's instant on, so when your detector goes off, you're already clocked.
Last time I checked, however, laser hadn't actually been accepted by the courts as a valid method of speed determination. When it's used, the (valid) assumption is that most people will just write a check rather than fight it.
