Great idea adding "crap" only to make future electrical issues that much more retarded to diagnose.
Doubt even C4s went through this level of fuckery. They simply got Corvette windshield banners and ground effects. Worst case infections resulted in fake wood grain interior kits.
We get... everything else seen weekly these days in C5General.

I, would keep it simple, and go for some ‘LOVELY’ Caliper Covers, Wheelskin, and some more badges (so people really know you’re driving a CORVETTE) ... and for you too (just in case).

Push button start is nice. I've had it in my last three cars but I will not mess up the electrical in my 2003 vert for it. Or my 2014 Silverado either.
It's really nice though. Don't have to dig out the keys to start the car. Nice.

I don't think there are any kits for sale to do this, you have to design and build your own. Mine has performed great for six years and the solid state relays eliminate contact burn/pitting effects in the ignition switch because there is no ignition switch. The '98 passive fob automatically unlocks the car when approached and that allows it to function like the new cars where the fob stays in your pocket.

Check this out from the C5 Tech section:

Or just google push start for c5 corvette.
I'm not sure how current the information is anymore but there used to be a kit you could buy.
But as others have said I'm not sure I'd mess to much with teh C% electronics.

My wife's Rogue push button start is one where the FOB needs to be in the car (pocket, whatever), and the brake pedal applied. This is good IMO.
If I had the time and know-how... maybe. Turning a key is simple enough for me tho.

Melting Slicks
There is more of a chance of me being hit by a meteor that of me screwing around with my C5's already overly complicated electrical/computer/bag of snakes system. Just my opinion only! Have a good one!

My new car has push button start/stop. Neat but I don't actually need it. My hands are quite capable of turning a key. And if it was in the side of the steering column, we would not have all these column lock problems with our C5's.
One step forward, two steps back.

Its easy enough to wire a button SOMEWHERE on the dash to allow you to push it and crank the engine BUT, it will NEVER have the complexity of allowing you to just jump into the car and just push the button like ALL the new cars that have it new OEM.
You would still have to insert the key into the ignition turn it to RUN and then push that BUTTON!
You can bypass the VATS circuit but, you would still need a lot more wiring headaches to make it so you don't need a key to make it work. After you bypass ALL OF THAT STUFF, anyone can steal your car!!
The C6 has a number of sensors that read the FOB to verify that you have the correct FOB which satisfies a BUNCH of security requirements. Those security requirements allows the BCM to complete the theft deterrent circuit which enables the START PUSH BUTTON to function.
The C6 has or can have a pile of issues with the PUSH TO START circuit and the BCM. Your C5 has it OWN issues with the VATS and Theft Deterrent Circuit.
My 2 Cents
