I have a ton of old pictures to update showing the last few months of work but still need to sift through them.

In the meantime, this happened last night:

I need to break in the new rear gears (4.10) for 500 miles before opening it up. I plan on working on the driveability and idle of the tune during that time. It will eventually see a dyno

how did you route the breather system? any snags or issues with the swap?

The breather is one thing I'm especially wary of. The old LS1 would suck oil into the intake after a long decel from high revs on the track or highway, and then burn the oil with a cloud of smoke out the back when you got back on the gas.

So with that being said I wanted to learn more about a PCV/catch can setup..

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...s3-l92-c5.html

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...s3-l92-c5.html

I plan on running it as shown with at least one catch can (on the dirty side), possibly another one on the clean side.

I guess there were no real snags or issues, just some inconveniences.

-When removing or installing axles into the diff, be careful not to nick or gouge the rubber boot.
-Do not rotate the steering wheel after you've disconnected the steering shaft from the rack.
-EBCM stays with the body, one brake line (RF wheel) has to be disconnected from it and stays with the cradle. The rest of the brake lines stay with the body

I haven't yet driven the car so I don't know how everything else will shake out, we'll find out this week.

I still need to:
Let car idle in the driveway to make sure cooling system is burped and car doesn't overheat.
Drive it around the block, make sure nothing obvious is wrong.
Take it down a longer stretch of country road to shake it down some more.

Ok, coming up on 400 out of 500 slow break in miles for the rear diff (the old one was making noise and was replaced under warranty).

I "borrowed" a tune from a guy on CorvetteForum with an LS3 C5, surprisingly runs really well around town. With the cutouts closed the car sounds stock and cruises nicely. With the dumps open you can definitely tell it's cammed

Pat G is working on a remote tune for me, expect to get it in the next couple days. That should coincide with the end of the diff break in - I plan on changing the engine oil and diff lube and letting it eat.

So far there have been no unusual noises, sounds, leaks, etc. Only issue is a P0332 code for a knock sensor that keeps coming back. I need to check to see that the harness isn't pinched anywhere, and that the sensors themselves are working. Anyone know how to get a live reading in HPT VCM for knock sensors so I can tap on em and see which one is dead?

Too cool man. I want an ls3 now... What location did you use for your knock sensors?

Driver's side is on the square boss at the very frontmost edge of the block at the top, passenger side is low on the block where the dipstick enters the oil pan. I think I overtorqued the passenger side because it's giving me a code for that one.

Awesome. I remember seeing some build updates on Tech about your vacuum actuated cutouts etc.

Been daily driving the car almost every day, it's actually great to drive with stock mufflers on it. AC blows ice cold, no leaks or mechanical issues. I have 2 track days on the setup and am happy with the reliability.

I do plan on getting it on a dyno in the next few weeks to see what it puts down, and see if we can tweak the timing curve to wring a bit more out of it.

id be curious to see what kind of power you could make with the old heads cam and intake on your 6.2.

As much as I love the combo (and how streetable it is) I will probably list it for sale soon. My wife and I are thinking about starting a family and the car will end up sitting too much. I'd rather see someone else enjoy it.

Congratulations on the "starting (expanding/enlarging) the family".
There are a few things that are more satisfying than a Corvette. Family is near the top of that list.

BTW - we will miss your updates.

Jk!

congrats man, the wifey and I are just a month away from the arrival of our son. I would keep it if it doesn’t strain your finances, it’s well sorted, proven to be reliable and if it sits for a bit who cares?

Regardless you know what’s best for you and your family!

I care, because I don't let my cars sit, I drive them

I would love to stay in a fun 2 door, but with a backseat. Looking at E92 M3s and CTSV coupes. Lots of cool stuff out there right now, great time to be in the market.
