Default DQ... Sirius antenna mounting...

I searched the forums, and saw several ways to mount the antenna, on the dash, on the cowl, on the bumper brace in the rear bumper, next to the battery, etc. I thought I read or heard someplace that the antenna would work if set on the metal HU mount of the double din set up. I'm kicking myself for not having Dennis do it while the car was there. We're starting to get fluffy rain here occasionally, so am going to try to get the car out for one more run before it gets tucked away until spring. Making a list of winter projects for it and this is one I was wondering about. Thanks in advance - Leroy

Many different areas will work, some better than others. I tried multiple areas on my 99 and the one that got the best reception was at the top center of the rear hatch where it had a clear vire of the sky.

BTW, your Vette will not melt in the rain ;^)

We put ours in the top center of the windshield - just above the rear view mirror. Works nicely (although we rarely listen to anything other than "exhaust music").

I installed mine on the top of the interior taillights and then ran the cable through the car to the back of the HU.

I have a simple location which is close to the HU. At the top side of the dash I have the antenna sitting on the dash above the space between the dash and the A-pillar with the wire running down between that space and directly into the back of your radio. Simple and works well. You don't even have to glue the antenna down, it just sits there with no problems.

A PO installed the unit in my car. Antenna at the far right corner of the dash. I'll never use it so it's all coming out next year.

Passenger side right below the windshield wiper. Sits perfectly and the wires are easy to route through to the radio from there.

Default works well

I too mounted the antenna on the cowl by the rt wiper arm. Together with the navigation ant, the sirius ant works well and is pretty well hidden. Been in this location almost one and a half years now.
