Default 19 and 20 inch rims on C5?

I have a stock 04' C5 Convertible. I have 17&18 rims now and I'm looking to upgrade to 19 and 20 but I'm wondering about the offsets and specifics as it relates to buying new rims. I'd like to go tire a bit wider too without hurting gas milage. Suggestions?

Thanks!

I had a set of Imola Design 22 wheels in 19x8.5 and 20x10 sizes and I ran 245/35ZR19 fronts, 285/30ZR20 rears. Worked well for me but there may be other sizes that you can run too as long as you keep the proper stagger front to rear (1/2" to 1 1/2" difference).

I would suggest call one of the wheel dealers to get their advice since that is what they do. I spoke with Jason at GetYourWheels.com. I wanted 19" all around Forgestar F14's. He knew the correct offsets and widths for the tire sizes I planned to use. Worked out perfectly, no rubbing and they fit perfectly.

Thanks! I’m worried about buying rims and realizing they rub on the wheel wells. I see 19 come in a range of widths too (8.5. -11 ). Suggestions on widest tire possible on a 19 rim? Thanks so much.

I run F 19/10.5, 285-30, R 20/13, 345-25. I’m mini tubbed in back to fit the rear tires INSIDE the fenders.
If you think you might entertain the idea of upgrading your brakes in the future, you have to order them with that thought in mind, as you need extra clearance.
One more thought, going with 19/20, your stock brakes will look like Honda units. That’s why the BB upgrade.

A lot of guys run 275/305 tires with no issues, but you need proper offset wheels.

Performance will suffer, but on a stock height car (or even slightly lowered) I would assume your main concern is having a short tire upfront to not scrape the bumper (or adjust caster to make do)

With the right offset, it will be no issue.

I'm running 19" on the front 20" on the rear. 275/30 ,295/30 rear on 10 1/2 rims. These were on the car when I purchased it . I don't know the offsets yet. I would like to go 18" on front and 19 rear. I don't like the 2" gap between the front fender lip and the top of the tire. I would like to see pics of folks tire and rim setup and get some ideas.

20's all around R 10.5" 305/25 F 10" 295/25 on drop spindles & coilovers about 2.25" lower than stock, a noticeable difference in ride quality but only on certain road surfaces, I must say about 90% of the time I am happy with the ride, no noticeable difference in performance, do notice a little more brake dust, but not really any difference in the overall braking. 400" lb F springs & 550" lbs R, ride control setting are 0 F 5 R
