Possibly the best budget performance Tire for the C5!
I put a set of these Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 (new version) on my C5 this summer and like them so much that I put together a short video.

You’ll get a lot of differing opinions on what tire may be the best for the money. I personally prefer the Hankook Ventus V12 EVO tires. YMMV.

Glad you like them. Everyone will have their own opinion as to what tire they like and that's ok...to each his own and that's what makes the world go round.
Me ?
I'm running Continental DWS6 in a C6 Base model size and I love'em !

I have run the DWS tires on 4 cars now. I think bang for the buck they are right at the top

Ran Continental DW series tires on several cars and liked them a lot. Most recently we had DWS on the wife's daily driver and I had DW on the last RX7 I had which was heavily modified for track duty, but saw it's fair share of use on the street. If the '99 FRC would need tires soon they would be the Continental ExtremeContact Sports, which replaced the DW. Plus they are one of the few max performance summer tires still available in the 275/40-17 & 295/35-18 size combo for use on the C5 Z06 rims that are not STUPID expensive.

Nice review, I like the weight on the Firehawks, 25# front and 27# rear. I cant wait to get the heavy F1 run flats (30# front, 34# rear) off the C5 I just bought but opted to go budget on the ultra high performance all season end, have deposit on GENERAL - G-MAX AS-05 which are 24# front and 26# rear. I have used Tire Rack in the past but apparently local shops are giving deals for black Friday weekend, I am ~$600 OTD after rebates for the Generals at Discount Tire.
I have dws06 on my SS which I bought from Tire Rack and really like them but decided to try something different for my C5 after quite a bit of research, the Generals seem like they are trying to get into the market as a great value for the money.
My experience on summer tires is under 50 degrees they just slide too much even on dry pavement, my C5 being half a daily driver even though don't deal with snow going the all season route since plenty of months out of the year its cold pavement driving.

I considered them but they are about $35 more per tire and the ratings on tire rack are a little less with each tire having about 150 reviews.

Thanks for the review. I will be getting new tires in the spring. I have the Michelin Pilot Super Sports on my car. I have no issue with them except the cost ($911 from Tire Rack). I have been looking at the Firestones as a budget ($495 from Tire Rack) replacement. Your review will certainly be a factor in my final decision.

I just put a pair of Hankook Ventus 245/45 ZR17 X on the front of my 03 Coupe for 236.71 from Walmart.
