An amazing story.

What a great gift to the Museum and what a great way to preserve the legacy of the CORVETTE

I asked NCM about the engine. Only the head gaskets were replaced and some valve work.

I saw the car in person over the weekend at the NCM. It looks remarkable for a vehicle with that many miles. I posted some pics of it in this thread:

With that many miles, the owner must have lived behind the wheel of that car.

That is great. I have a 2000. Don't think I will live long enough to make that many miles. 87000 on the OD

I don't want to be that sceptical dick head but seriously

I mean lets be realistic, there's no way a bone stock ls1 could get up to that many miles without having at least two top end rebuilds. These engines are pretty warn out by the 250k mile mark if nanny-driven.

He must have gone through at least three transmissions (is it an auto?)

Would be good to get some more facts on what exactly had been done to this car over the years to keep it in such good condition
