Default Banker099 mild build thread

Haven't made a post in a while, got some things done to the car over the last year, i bought the car in June of 2016, since then i have put in a comp cam, 228/232 .610/.610 on a 113LSA, AFR 215 V2 heads, Corsa CAI off of a C6, FAST 92 manifold with a 90mm silver blade TB and Kooks Headers, the car also has the borla exhaust(this was on the car when i purchased it).

I did get some Hickock wheels off ebay and Mickey Thompson D/Rs, but thats all i have changed as far as appearance.

As of right now the car made 440hp to the wheels.

Next up will be a NX nitrous system, (already started the install as you can see in the pics below), and will be getting some tranny parts from Sonnax and a converter (not sure what i will be going with yet) 2nd gear is already slipping pretty bad but i know the Sonnax parts and having a bigger converter with a trans cooler will help make this ole 4l60 live with 700ish hp on nitrous.

Nice car good luck with the nitrous. I'm steering clear of that stuff. Way way too many motors in the junk yard because of nitrous.

Ive seen just as many motors or more in the junkyard because of turbos. Nitrous is my preferred power adder, I've tuned and built many nitrous cars/trucks. Just like with any power adder you have sure the tune up is correct and don't spray more than the engine can handle.

440whp is a nice start with what appears to be a sensible, streetable build. Interested in your thoughts about the trans rebuild when you've completed it.

Just spoke with the shop building the trans and got some info about what was broken and what all parts were installed.

Here is a list of the Sonnax parts used in the build.
PERFORMANCE PACK, Calibration Kit, part# HP-4L60E-01
KIT, 2.84 RATIO INPUT CARRIER, part# 77284-K
SMART-TECH® INPUT HSNG W/HD SHAFT, part# 77733-10K
SHAFT, 2WD HIGH STRENGTH, part# 74678L-HD
SMARTSHELL® KIT, part# 77749-02K
SERVO KIT, 4TH GEAR SUPER HOLD, part# 77767K
SERVO KIT, 2ND GEAR SUPER HOLD, part# 77911-03K
BAND,2-4 HEAVY DUTY, part# 77700-01K
VALVE, 2-3 SHIFT HD, part# 77754-41
VALVE, PRESSURE REG O/S, part# 77917-07
BUSHING, PUMP, PTFE COATED, part# 77005T
Sonnax Abuse Valve Plugs, part# 77754-21
Sonnax AFL Valve Kit, part# 77754-09K
TCC Regulator Valve Kit, part# 77754-03K
3-4 Relay O-Ringed End Plug Kit, part# 77964-08K

Below are the damaged parts. Overall they said it was not too bad. Here is what i was told in the documentation sent over from the shop: "The 2nd & 4th band was pretty smoked with signs of slipping or dragging. This damaged the drum the band rides on creating hot spots and warpage etc. The 3-4 clutches which are another weak link show some distress but still were somewhat functional."

Also mentioned: "If this Performance Pack (like a shift kit) and larger servos were installed and a fluid change. The transmission would very likely have held up to the extra power of nitrous/etc."

These are most of the parts used to repair and upgrade the transmission to full 4L75-E spec’s.
Sonnax 3-4 clutch housing with larger clutch pack and reduced flex; Sonnax High strength input shaft; Sonnax billet servos with larger apply area; Sonnax wider 2nd & 4th band; Sonnax 2-3 shift valve that improves input sprag durability; Sonnax 2.84 ratio 1st gear planetary; Sonnax high strength output shaft; Sonnax upgraded Smart-shell reaction shell; Sonnax Performance Pack calibration kit to increase pressure and improve hydraulic calibration; 5 pinion rear planet to replace original 4 pinion set.
