Default Guys 01 Targa Build

Hey everybody, Im starting this thread to follow the build of my new Vette. The car is a Red 2001 Targa Coupe with 100k miles, and I am 22 years old and live in Miami Fl. First thing, I appreciate any 'quality' and 'informative' advice or recommendations so please give me any you have. The goal is to post and share my projects as I go and hopefully get some good stuff generated. Im a bit of a perfectionist, so Ill lay out everything as neatly as possible for people to duplicate. Reason being, the first up is something severely lacking and a big issue for c5's and other older models from what I've seen.

So first up is the sound system.... what a disaster this is. The previous owner had a decent setup but its half missing and the bose speakers sound like knives on a plate, plus the head unit needs replaced ( its already a double din ). Im not a sound system guy, I don't know wiring, but I basically taught myself everything from the internet and got a beautiful custom system designed. The car has two custom ported boxes in the rear corners for two 12" Subs.

Here is the list (incomplete):
Amps- Pioneer GM MonoD 2400w ( 1 ), Pioneer GM FD 4Ch 1200w ( 1 )
Speakers- Pioneer TSA 3-way Coaxial 6.5" ( 4 )
- Door mounts for 6.5" ( 2 )
Subwoofers- Pioneer Champion Pro Series Dual Voice Coil 600-2000w ( 2 )
Wiring- NVX 1/0 G , NVX 4G ( All NVX 100% copper ) ( NVX Kits were used )
Head Unit- Kenwood DDX9703S Double Din head unit ( 1 )
Adjustable Bass ****

I will be ordering this stuff next week and will them post up pictures and step by step work. Super stoked, this system is going to sound sweet as hell. Im also installing two new sun visors, as this one is work out and the other missing. Cars in great shape and this build is going to go a long way, Braum Seats, Suspension, Engine tunes, Bolt ons, ect...

Congratulations! Looks good under the hood! Keeping the wheels, or going for something else later?

Hey fellas. So I'm about to order everything and will start next week. The whole system is now laid out and Ill post up my diagram here. Still unsure of the routes I'm going to run the wires but ill be keeping them bundled together as much as possible.

redzg- I like the wheels but will be upgrading down the road. For now they are great and I like them a lot. 19 front 20/295 rear.

This is the current layout. All wires are labeled, this image is the battery, head unit, door speakers, amps, subwoofers, and all the wiring in between.
The subs are dual voice coil 12'', and they are wired down to 1ohm at the amp.

Also a reminder ill be rewiring and installing the sun visors as well on both sides afterwards, ( they also have the lights, some aftermarket visors don't have them but these will ).
More updates to come next week.
