If you are going to fix it, do it the right way.

Here is what I did at the end of 2017 summer to repair mine glass. It is still holding.
Picture 1. I used RINO Glue -ultra and a package of 6 Universal Vacuum Clamps for Convertible Glass Repair that I found on Amazon.
Picture 2. I partially opened the top to relieve fabric tension. I stuffed pillows snugly against the glass.
Picture 3,4,5. I first removed the old glue stuff from the glass using a glass scrapper followed with glue removal liquid on glass and top fabric. Then I masked the outside of the top to protect it from any glue spillage after application. I applied the RINO Glue first at the top of the glass and used all 6 Vacuum Clamps leaving them on for at least 8 hours. I did the sides next (3 at each side) and the bottom last again letting each application ‘cure’ for at least 8 hours.

Not for long.
Here is a proven solution to this fairly common C5 vert issue:

Thanks much for this. I have a 2000 Vert and I'll keep this for reference when the time comes for a repair.

I removed mine completely and cleaned both sides with lacquer thinner to remove any oils and get a good bond. Ran this 3M VHB tape around the glass in one piece and replaced the window to the top. It has held great even in the car wash I get zero leaks. The glue and suction cup job looked too messy and I did this in less than a 1/2 hour. And guess what if it comes loose I have a ton of tape left over but I can't see it failing it stuck so well. even in direct sunlight it holds like a charm. Make sure you have it lined up because once it bonds that is where it's going to stay.
