I use NCM for my 02 as it's pretty much a show car only. I have MANY mods so I wanted an agreed value on the car.
My 99 is a daily driver (except in winter) so I have State Farm on that car.

I can't speak for other companies only when I shopped it Hagerty was really good in where and how much you drive.
I really like them . When I had 71 , I used the towing coverage a lot ! I’ve had two claims , paid in 2 days on the last one . They don’t mind occasional drives . My friend just got them and he doesn’t have a garage either . Love em

Same here.
Now, my daily driver is with Liberty Mutual and I have a clean driving record and that policy went up about 90 bucks.
I may call them and tell them they screwed up my bill. I never had an accident and I never cause them to lose money.

I have NCM Insurance. Cost about $500 a year for the 6000 mile a year policy.

Grundy doesn't have a mileage restriction?

What am I missing here?
I looked into both the run-of-the-mill collector policies and my general policy and like a member mentioned further up I found that wrapping my Corvette under an umbrella policy with my current provider worked wonders on saving money. The plus side also is there are no silly restrictions on usage which baffles me that someone would agree on. I can drive 10,000 miles or 100 miles a month 12 months out of the year, and my full coverage insurance premium with an agreed value is - no joke - cheaper than what I've paid liability on for cars of a similar age. And if the car is wrecked I'm either getting another C5 or something of similar value. It was a no brainer for me. Plus like you rightly point out there are barely a rain drop of C5s actually worth North of $20K in the current market. Modern econo-boxes have more value.

Unless some of these collector policies are willing to loosen up restrictions and offer a heck of a deal on both premium and value I'm staying where I'm at.

Nope! I was very surprised. Just can't be your everyday work car. We have an agreed-upon value too, none of this Kelly whatever book value. Something happens, it gets fixed or replaced.

I would have to check.

Funny thing is, I am exactly 1 mile from my shop. I would think they would rather have me drive back and forth to work than back and forth to Florida!

I was going to have specialty insurance on my first vette (95). Now I have an (04). In both cases, it was better to just put regular insurance on the car. On the road April-October. I pay more, Nov-March, I pay a lot less. Under $400 total for a year, BUT I have a house and 2 other cars with this company.

I don't care about the driving to work part because I'll be retired when I get mine. What I care about is being able to insure it for an agreed upon amount, and having no mileage restrictions....and of course how much the premiums will be...

Sounds like my choices are down to either Chubb or Grundy. I guess now it depends on which one has the lowest premium...

$600 a year, no mileage restrictions, $30K value. It is a 2002 'Vert.

I have Hagerty and they are great! I have the Vette on a separate policy from the other cars because I have an 18 year old on the main auto policy and will be adding another teen driver to it in a few more months. That doesn't mix well with a Vette...

I will go with my current company (USAA) if they will allow for an agreed upon value. I don't know if they will. If not, I will have to go with one of these companies...

I have never had a premium go up just because it is now a new year.

Who else should I be contacting for quotes?
I just got my bill , 560 for 15000 value and the towing option . No change from last year . Did you give them a call ?

Adding to the thread and also asking a question. First off I have Heacock currently for 2 vehicles, one is a '75 Vette with I believe agreed value of $12K. They are very reasonable, much less than Hagerty and less strict than Grundy which rubbed me the wrong way as their application process was a nightmare. Easy Peasy with Heacock. However.....

Recently I was considering buying a square body C/10, lowered with a built 350 with a little over 350 horse etc. Nice little Hot Rod. Well Heacock comes back with a quote of over $450 due to the high performance nature of the vehicle. Anyone else run into something like this with your carrier? Who else has a hot rodded, supercharged, cammed Vette and is happy with the carrier and rates? Did you tell them it is not stock? You might want to consider that if you haven't or be surprised when trying to file a claim. I am in the process of buying a supercharged C5 Z-06 and before letting my fingers do the walking and calling everyone mentioned, I'm interested in who non stock owners use.

Thanks!
