Currently insure my C5 with Haggerty. Great company. But just found out my premium has gone up about $200 with no explanation other than the previous premium was last year.
I have never had a premium go up just because it is now a new year.
Who else should I be contacting for quotes?

Check your policy. I had ins with NCM... Great if you only drive you Corvette to meets or car shows. Same four Grundy. I sold my "spare" case and needed the Corvette for 2nd car. Added it to my house/car policy for about $500 or $200 more than NCM & Grundy.

I insure my C5 with the National Corvette Museum. Very good rates but they do have restrictions on the use of the car. I have been pleased with them as their restrictions haven’t bothered me. I have not received my renewal yet (won’t get it until around July) so can't say whether my premium will go up this year.

I insured my 2001 in January with National Corvette Museum and my Premium is half the price quote I got from Haggerty!

I use Grundy, my rate didn't change this year. I find it curious that they will let us drive the car as much as we like, go across the country, doesn't matter to them. But....... You can't drive it back and forth to work everyday, no matter what the mileage is.

Grundy
I have Grundy coverage. I don't have a problem with the restrictions being it is mostly a garage queen! Have not seen a price increase on renewals.

I use American Modern Insurance for my two Corvettes. If IIRC this is the underwriter for the National Corvette Museum Insurance. They have the same policy restrictions as the Museum Insurance.

Why do you guys pay collector car insurance with all these restrictions when these cars (most of them) are worth south of 20K? My wife's Enclave is worth more. I know I don't have "agreed" value with my Geico policy, but it only costs me $170.00 a year (for my 02 convertible) and I can drive it where I want and when I want without some dumb restrictions. What am I missing here?

Curious on this. What if you feel like driving it to work once in a blue moon. Is that allowable?

I'm considering it because at the heavily modded and high HP state my car is (was north of 800 RWHP, soon to be near or above 1000 RWHP), an agreed upon value is MUCH better to have than a typical run of the mill auto policy with some kind of "modification" rider that won't come NEAR to compensating you in case of a total loss. Depending on the car, it's totally worth it. Your higher mileage, daily driven, aging example? Not so much.

I use Hagerty as well, they cost more but they allow you to drive your car. I also had a rather large claim and they were nothing short of exceptional. They pay some of the highest shop rate hourly rates, OEM PARTS and as I said extremely professional and quick. My shop was quite pleased. I can't speak for other companies only when I shopped it Hagerty was really good in where and how much you drive.

I have Grundy and every year my premium goes up. I don't have any tickets, points or accidents (**knock on wood**). I use to have 3 cars insured under them and when I sold them and removed them from the coverage, the premium went up over $100 within a few years. I use to pay $335.. now I pay $488. I don't even drive the car much and keep lowering the agreed value too. Time for a new company!
