Default Retro fuel rail covers

I bought a set of retro fuel rail covers and did a little paint job on them. May Vette is a black 03 Z, and I though I would match them up. I really like the Retro look. What do you think?

I like it! Its not like you are restoring a 65 mustang and everything has to look and be OEM. I like those WAY better then some aftermarket carbon looking ones that anyone can buy and throw on there (i'm not ranking on those of you that have those!!! to each his own for sure! just my opinion )

Since you asked, they are not to my taste, but they are different and if you like them, that's the thing that matters. Nothing wrong with having different things on the car.

Agree. Not sure I'd want my LS to look like it was built in the '50s. Unless it was in a car built in the '50s. The trends have usually been to make older vehicles look more modern not newer looking older. Throw on a Hurst T Handle and some Crager SS wheels and your all set.

I don't want to assume your intent here...if you wanted these to look like old school valve covers or still like a C5 frc with old script. If the former, then I would have done the paint in reverse. As they stand, the black valve cover look gets completely lost because of all the red surrounding it. Had the black been on the outer portions it would have blended in with the engine bay more and the red valve cover would have really popped. Again, maybe that isn't what you were going for and design is a matter of taste. I personally don't care for plastic covers of any kind and tossed mine in favor of Proform valve covers and relocated coils. I do think the finish came out really well and it is refreshing to see something different.

I debated the paint scheme. I was going do paint them in the three colors of the 50 anniversary emblem. But, I wanted something different. ERGO the black valve cover with the red lettering, and they do pop. I like the look, it's different, and it's not a show car, although it looks very good with 56k miles. And I really like the retro look, I'm not a purest by any means.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you find those covers? I've seen them in the past but can't seem to locate.

Think I would have painted the fuel rail cover black and the retro valve cover silver withe lettering in red.

look like decent replacements....I'm interested in going the other route, I'd like to remove the rail covers entirely & get my engine top end/engine bay clean enough to have em off permanently! Ideally would like to swap out heads and intake for upgrades as well, I like the naked look ;-)
