My new used C5 will be my daily driver!

I echo everyone else's sentiments that as long as you keep it well maintained, it should be a fine daily driver. Mine is a daily as long as there isn't snow on the ground, then the beater Jeep comes out. I'd have no problem driving it in snow with quality snow tires, but I already have a 4WD vehicle, so there's no reason to risk it in the Corvette.
On the topic of transmission fluid, GM 88861800 is the proper lubricant. It was released after Dexron III stopped being licensed.

My C5 is a daily driver. I've put about 35k miles on it in the past 3 years.
Pretty reliable, never left me stranded or anything. Although it seems like I have to put some money into it at least once or twice a year. I did the AC compressor last year, and now it just developed a power steering leak.
Still, it's cheaper than having a car payment.

Well, I should get the car tomorrow. It took several days to get the financing squared away and for them to square away a missing leaf-spring clamp (car didn't turn well to the right, but fine to the left... some joker left the right leaf spring clamp off the front suspension and they were completely flummoxed on why that happened and why their used car recon mechanic missed it. Embarrassed, actually.
I also got them to fix the driver's side seat-rock.

I drive my Vette daily between April 15 and October 31
of each year. So far no problems. I recommend doing so.
For all the haters, I don't believe in superstition, I believe in God.

My car is supposed to be ready Friday morning.
I called today after work and they told me that the seat rock issue was a bit of a learning experience for their mechanic, who appreciated the links I sent to him on seat rock repairs. The seat is still in pieces in their garage. He should have it together in the A.M.

I daily drive my 2000 DBGM coupe. The main expenses for me have been tires and seals. I have a 30 mile commute to work, mainly on a couple highways & some secondary roads. As others have said just be aware of the various sounds and replace parts as needed.

Synchromesh is the wrong type of fluid for the trans. By the time you switched to the correct ATF, the damage had already been done.

FINALLY took delivery! AMAZED at the quality of the car!
Financing was nearly impossible to get; I have fantastic credit but still needed my wife on the loan. Ended up with a terrific rate, great term and payment, and a spectacular auto!
