Default Will 305/45r18 fit my C5 base corvette

Question corvette for C5 owners??

I want to put some wide tires in the back I currently have 275/45r18 on stock rims I wanted to know if 305/45r18 would fit in the back and will the stock rim
Be fine with those tires, I also don’t want to put spacer I just want to buy the 305/45r18 and put them on do you guys think it will work?

From my research I found that the largest size that fits the rear stock wheel would be 295/35/18.

no, 305/45/18 is a 29" tire and will rub the fender liners... a 28" tire is about the biggest you can fit without doing some modifications... on the other hand if your car is stock or not making big hp there really is no need for a 28" tall tire on an 18" wheel other than looks

when you say a 29 tire your referring to 45r18 tall and a 28 tire would be 40r18 I'm a little confuse don't know much about tires...

i currently have 245/45r18 back 245/45r17 front i just want the back tires to look wider what exact size do you recommend or think i should go in the back to gave a wider tire look,, i think vetoes with wide rear tires look really good ???

Just something for you to think about...
Why not go with Z06 sizes? That's what I am doing right now...

Front rims 17x9.5
Rear rims 18x10.5

Front tires 265x40R17
Rear tires 295x35xR18

I have been running 18" x 11" rears for many years without problems, using 295/35-18 tires. I am presently in the process of switching to 19" x 11" wheels with 305/30-19 tires.

Thats what I went with on my car last year, no rubbing at all. I bought Nittos, very happy with them.

I'm also using that wheel/tire combo (Z06 Speedlines) on my '02 except the front tires are 275/40-17's. The car is also lowered on the stock bolts and there is no rubbing anywhere.

I have a 2000 Corvette FRC on some CCW classic rims with 335/30/zr18 Toyo Proxy RA1 and they BARELY stick out. I also have some 305/35/18 MT ET street S/S drag radials on some stock Z06 wheels and ill post those pics as well.

The first two pictures i just took in my garage and then the other one with the black wheels on the back are the drag radials and the last pic is showing the width on the tires

the first pic wont go vertical so not sure whats up with that.

Wow those 335/30/zr18 Toyo Proxy RA1 look fantastic! Who knew that big of a tire would fit. What size are those rims exactly? Are the FRC quarter panels wider than base models?
