I just ran across an ad for a 2000 Convertible with only 15,700 miles on it. I have been looking for a few weeks but all were too expensive and higher mileage. I went to see this car and could not believe it. It's a new car. I bought it instantly. Since the OEM tires are original, I'm leery of a Vette with 18 year old tires, so even though they look fantastic I'm replacing with Michelin Pilots. Since I'm an old retiree, I decided to take the risk of trading the Run Flat option for a smoother ride. Hope that doesn't bite me in the ***. This is my second Vette. I had an '85 back in my first mid life crisis. Hope to learn a lot from you guys.

It really is amazing how many low mileage C5s are still out there.
Nice find.

Welcome! I've had my 03 vert a little less than a year. Mine was a one owner with 28,000 miles on it and my wife and I just love it.
We updated a few things but it's still mostly stock.
Fun car to drive.

Congratulations from one "old" retiree to another. Sounds like you found a gem and I know you're going to enjoy it.
I'm envious of you being able to use it year round in Florida. We try and spend March in Cape Coral but had some conflicts this year and didn't make it down there.

The Tire Rack salesman told me the ride would be much smoother and quieter with the non-runflats. Do you think it with be that much more noticeable? The 18 year old original tires feel extremely hard.

Congrats on you’re purchase and welcome to the CF!

And yes, non-run flats are a Night & Day difference you should notice.

To get maximum performance from you C5 and if you are only going to drive in the summer, get summer non runflat tires. It will be like a different car.
