Sometimes it’s just cool...
I took my 03 out of storage last week. My dad kept it in his garage and he detailed it inside and out for me.
i drove it to the casino last night and went through valet. When they pulled it up as I was leaving I overheard a few people talking amongst themselves saying “yeah...you WISH that was your car”. On top of that, when the valet got out of it he told me how much he liked it, and asked how many miles it had. He couldn’t believe it when I said “107k”. He said that he thought it maybe had 40k on it and that he thought it was immaculate.
Not to sound arrogant but sometimes it’s nice to get compliments. Thanks for the detail job, Dad!!

Corvettes are sweet looking rides. The most unique and iconic american car on the road. The novelty of it appeals to many as most never get to sit in one let alone valet it to a parking spot. Whenever I have had anything done to my car, I always get compliments. My audio installer had to drive mine over to get aligned after they lowered it and the first thing he said was. "I gotta get me a corvette!" Enjoy that great ride!

I took my 02 out on Saturday, just to stretch her legs after a long winter nap...and while driving through town, a small group of kids where on a corner and they started waving and giving me the thumbs up...
I dont know why, but I get a greater sense of pride when kids act that way then I do when getting compliments at a Car Show from adults... There is just something so cool to have kids just "get it" when it comes to a Corvette...

I am the same way and really enjoy seeing kids wave and smile when they see the Vette. It seems the car culture has slowed down lately and i love seeing younger people be excited about cars.

Last year I went through a McDonalds drive through late at night. I got to the window and there was the manager and two other kids all at the window asking me "what IS that??"
Rather confused by the unexpected three, early 20's heads staring at me.... my answer was "it's a corvette" (torch red C5)
I don't think they had ever seen a car with pop up headlights before....

This made me remember last fall when we were in Charleston, SC having lunch at a water side restaurant. When we came out some Japanese tourists were taking pictures of our C5. I even let them sit in the front seat for pictures. Although there was a language barrier, we certainly communicated just fine in the universal language of automobiles..

story and nice of your dad to detail the car. The great thing about Corvettes is they have a classic design and impressive performance which makes them something people are just attracted to.

my vette sitting on jackstands covered in dust still gets compliments!!! Not bad for a 18 year old car..These cars still look good going down the road. Hope you did something nice for your pops

You will never see me handing my keys to a valet. Too many things can go wrong. At least make sure to only give them the car keys if you must and that your house keys are not attached so they can make a copy and "visit" you in the near future.
