In the pictures it appears the air dam is still in place and drags..or have you removed it? If still in place you can remove and seal the C7 Carbon splitter where it feeds the radiator thereby improving cooling potential. The hole in front of the splitter grabs more air than oem air dam and sealing areas where incoming air could potentially bypass the radiator makes it more efficient.
i actually thought i could ditch the stock air dam. But when you do there's a gap between the rear of the "tray" and the front of the rad. Reinstalling the front air dam bridges that gap. so the back of the "tray" on the splitter butts firmly against the top portion of the stock air dam. essentially sealing it and making it a mouth breather. to give you a point of reference. the 2 aluminum brackets that go behind the air dam. this tray goes all the way on top of those.
you could take a piece of plastic or sheet metal and ditch the stock air dam and seal it that way if you don't want the stock air dam left in place.

i'll try and get some pics later tonight.
I did something similar with TigerShark chin splitter to improve cooling with side benefit of eliminating air dam.
So i love my splitter. it's awesome. But i've been contemplating maybe making something to take it off when i go on road trips/autox/etc. That way i don't smoke it into a cone at autox, etc.
I was looking at these style:
or they make flush ones as well. or if i just wanted to be quick and dirty
I could do those. either way i'm putting holes in the bumper. it already has a bunch so i'm not too stressed about that.
the nice thing about the quick release is they're quick. The nice thing about the U clips is i don't have to cut/drill/mod the carbon splitter.
These are for jeep hard tops... and i like that i can set the tq with the hand ****. But i would have to figure out how to make the nuts stay on the inside of the bumper...
How has the coolant temps been affected? Can you measure how far from the middle of the bumper it drops?
sure i'll get you a pic with a measuring tape.
coolingwise i'm running at like 170-180. i have a 160 tstat and a dewitts setup though. i need to get more seat time with it. life's been in the way lately.
I teach children, and looking at a picture like this really hurts me. Those two angels need a cure!
I was a teacher before my first was born. Then I was working as an education specialist for the dept of human services making kinda crappy $ when I got the diagnosis for the oldest I left and went to work for my step dad. I needed to make more $ because I was worried about medical Bills. Left a job I loved. No regrets though.
my wife teaches for pittsburgh public but does a lot better than I was doing for the county.
OK, Vacations are all over now (hawaii for amelia's make a wish trip and jersey). Time to get this thing wrapped up for the year haha.
C7 Carbon - carbon fiber side skirts are ordered and should be shipped out in a week or so. I have the get the LMC5 installed. And i'm still really thinking about some seats...

I had to get a little creative to get the car out on the driver side. I have a pretty good dip towards the drain and that drops that side
after thinking it through. In the future I'll just put the boards inside the garage and back the driver front tire onto them when it goes into the depression in the floor.
these are awesome. No regrets. If you're squeamish about drilling holes these are not for you lol. They go on with rivits. Super sturdy once on lines are great. Fitment is great. I did have to realign my fender at the bottom to make these fit flush. But that was my cars poorly aligned fender. Not the side skirts. I just loosened the bottom screw and then pushed it in at the bottom.
I love the way these turned out. I'm slowly sharpening all the edges that have curves in the wrong places lol.
Your car looks badass! Just browsed most of the build thread and I enjoyed getting caught up. I am kind of curious about your brakes though. Are those the Wilwood kit that uses stock size rotors and a 4 piston calipers?

I use these on my track bike and are quick release without any tools is really convenient, but I don't think these would be sufficient for a front splitter. The screw with the clips would be best IMO.

Thanks man. yeah just the 4 pots. i'll see if i can find the part numbers. i did post it in the one brake thread. i'll see if i can find it.
