I got mine from Vettenuts a couple of weeks ago, had to finish another project first though on my 69. Paint should be in next week sometime since as mine is a '04 CE and the console will need to be painted. So, if all goes as planned I'll be doing the install next weekend (once the paint dries). I also picked up a dual 3M USB port extension that will fit where the lighter is, so that will do the trick for externals. I'm installing a Kenwood DNX893S head unit, looking forward to using it on my next road trip!

You may want to mock it up and make everything 100%, then paint it. That way no chance of ruining the new paint job.
...If I have a gripe, it would be with the brackets. A bit short on the slotted side, and a bit short on the tabbed side. Since the head unit sits a bit offset in the sub frame, one tab offers ample coverage, while the other juuuust gives you enough to get a screw through it and the sub frame...

Is the same thing happening with the OEM headunit? I honestly haven't noticed.
But once all components are installed and secured, is everything centered in relation to each other? In other words, are the openings in the bezel centered?
I will have the NEW Brackets that have been 3D Printed on Tuesday. They are made from part CF and plastic, in other words you will not break them. Also the gentleman who builds them is an engineer so he has done several revisions to get them perfect. They are bad ***! Fully adjustable and comes with screws. $19 bucks for the set,
More details first of the week and they will be ready to order by end of the week latest.

The L brackets are to mount the head unit. They don't play well with all of them though.
Finished up my install last night, thought I'd post a few pictures. I did have to modify the "not so universal" mounting brackets, but with a dremel and shim washers got the HU where it needed to be. I did have to shave about 1/16" to 3/32" off the top side of the piece between the HU and HVAC so that the door on the HU would operate properly. I may order the new composite brackets and install them the next time I have to take out the console.
We had to revise them after the first go round. We were not happy with overall strength so the material was upgraded and we could not be any more pleased with the results. If you ordered a set of metal brackets include your order number at checkout for a $9 refund.
