Updated Forgestar **** pics
I always cringe when someone else mounts my wheels and tires besides myself. I am always waiting to find scratches and scuffs on the lip of the wheels, with excessive bead lube gooped all over the sidewalls.
Well, I was fortunate enough to have my car builder/technician/best friend put me in touch with a local Discount Tire store manager he knew personally. The store manager lived nearby my friend's shop, and he actually offered to personally pick up my wheels and tires for the install. When we received the set back, I was pleasantly surprised to find them in the condition you see below. NO scuffs or scratches, NO bead lube anywhere to be found (other than right inside the bead where it belongs), upgraded valve stems without having to ask me, silver weights instead of the black ones (he said there was no way he was putting those ugly things on my wheels), and check out the center caps! He actually positioned each one so the bottom of the emblem points to each valvestem in the same direction. THAT is attention to detail!
It turns out that the store manager is a gearhead! He has a '70-71 Chevy C10 that is slammed on 20" Torq-Thrust wheels, and a '63 Chevy tubbed pro-street truck with a 500"+ big block in it that supposedly runs really hard. Needless to say, we are giving this man a lot more business, and we will probably have him over to the shop for a BBQ!
Time to clean these babies up, give them a good coat of wheel wax, get them on the car, and throw some dressing on the sidewalls. Stay tuned for more pics soon!

Nothing out of the ordinary. The popular Forgestar F14s in the usual 18x9.5/19x11 fitment. Tires are Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2s, 265/35R18 front and 305/30R19 rear.
Planning on it for next year. These wheels are temporary. When I go wide, I will be spec'ing some higher quality and stronger wheels.

Those wheels are beautiful. Would you share what vendor you went with, what offsets the wheels have and also could you post up some pics when you get them mounted? Been thinking about a new set of wheels and I really like the look of those. Thanks.

Nice. How long ago did you order those? I ordered a set of Forgestars on 2-13 that I'm still waiting for. Just curious what my time frame looks like in comparison.

My friend's shop is "Eurotoys, Ltd." in Elgin. Don't let the name fool you. While he specializes in Jaguar and Range Rover supercharger upgrades and tuning, most of his work is on custom American muscle. He is currently building a pro-touring '57 BelAir with a twin-turbo LQ9 and a Roadster Shop chassis among some other neat stuff. Here is one of his personal cars. An original 1973 Trans Am in Brewster Green. One of like 43 cars with a non-SD 455 engine and 4-speed. It now has a full pro-touring suspension, Wilwood brakes, a Kaufmann-headed 462" Pontiac engine with Holley EFI, and a Tremec TKO600.

I will as soon as I can. While the car is at the shop, we are taking my 3"x-pipe and cat-back down and replacing the crappy 2-bolt flanges with V-band clamps. My exhaust system is quickly becoming the most expensive C5 system ever. Ugh. We are also installing my big swaybars and Wilwood kit. Then while the car is in the air, I am going to detail the wheel wells and suspension, and coat the barrels of the wheels before installing them. Basically, it may be a week or two before I can get decent pics...

It took 12 weeks to get mine. Granted, it did take an extra week because my wheels were brushed and clearcoated at a second location before they were shipped to me. Plus, when mine were ordered (11/30) Forgestar was still waiting for their delivery of raw wheels from Asia coming over on the slow boat. LOL
