Default Update on my vette, sound deadening, new coilovers

I had a thread, can't remember it. Spring is almost here, and I'm getting some stuff done.

New aldan coilovers, fresh front rotors and pads, installing sound barrier sound damping in rear inner fenders, new rear inner fenders, replacing one of the bad wheels and doing hinson motorsports engine mounts (already did transmission last fall when I did the major tranny rebuild).

I thought I'd share these pix of the inner fender sound damping, two other guys did it with some other materials before. Needless to say pre-installation you hit and knock on and it's a louder frequency, after applying the sound barrier, the noise when you hit and knock is reduced, I will find out the difference while driving.

I used this stuff:

Sonic Barrier MX-4 Max Aluminum Foil Butyl Foam Rubber Sound Damping Sheets 31.5" x 18.12" 4 pcs
Part # 268-046

Sonic Barrier SR Small Roller for Sound Damping Material Application
Part # 268-052

I got 5 packages, each package comes with 4 sheets. I used about 2 for both inner fenders.

Ordered from parts-express.com

The little roller was useful too but I have strong hands and pressed hard, so I used a combination of hands and the roller. For cutting I used heavy duty scissors.

That looks good. That was the only area I didn't sound deaden when I did mine and that is where I still get a fair amount of noise from. After you drive it, can you let us know how effective it was?? I will seriously do this same mod as the sound deadening helped out so much everywhere else and this might be the last little bit that will help really deaden the cabin. Those coilovers are on my short list also.

Looks really good. Should be some nice road noise reduction and the coil overs should help a lot.

Still waiting on the replacement wheels. Need to take it to specialty shop to do corner balancing, alignment and adjustment.

Otherwise I can definitely feel they are good shocks. They need to be dialed in... rear tire is hitting at the ride height, 4 clicks to the right for rebound. Rear wallows slightly over bumps so it needs adjustment... Front something is rubbing. I didn't drive hard, so I can't give a good review until everything is done. I have 275/35/18 front and 285/35/19 rear.

The sound deadening slightly helped, I need to do the entire interior. I have B&B bullets lol so its loud regardless... but every bit helps...

I have read up on other installs with Coilovers some guys needed to grind or shave certain areas for the coils to fit depending on the brand. Did you have to any modifications for the coils to fit. Or was it just bolt them up. Thanks!!

Im booked for may 11th for corner balancing, proper coilover spring adjustment and overall car setup...

Before that I have to order a front bump steer kit... the bumpsteer is so bad after any and every bump... wheel all over the place...

I am thinking baer front kit.. i got the rear kit... is that the best idea? Or would another be better? I can get it 280CAD to the door from a shop in Alberta.. pricey... Im in ontario...

Didn't know Baer had kits for Vettes. Did the rear help? Was it because you were lowered?
