MTI Six Shooter shifter?
I am looking tk upgrade my shifter in my 2004 Z06 and do not want a shifter with alot of resitance and notchy feeling. For tbose of you with the MTI shifter is it smoother? What i mean is there less resustance and does it have the notchy feeling to it? Thanks for any input.

There are two main factors that influence the notchyness.
Research the Anti-venom mod. That's the detent click you overcome into or out of a gear. Reduce that detent and its easier to move the shifter.
The second is the **** itself. My MTI with a C6 **** has flex in the **** itself. If I change to a billiard ball shifter it would offer a more mechanical feel through the gears as there's no padding or flex where the outer skin meets the guts of the shifter **** where it attaches to the handle.
The main thing a shifter offers is a custom length of throw based on shifter length/pivot geometry which affects length of throw.
Basically I'm saying to do the anti venom mod and keep either a c5/c6 **** and it will be the most you'll get away from mechanical and clicky. Personally, I like mechanical. I don't have the antivenom and I'm ditching the c6 **** for a heavy weight stainless steel ball.

I have the washers for the antuvenom mod on the way. Does the MTI shifter have springs in it to force the handle to the center of the linkage? I have a cheap short throw shifter now and hate the effort required to move over to the left or right of center.
Thanjs for the reply.

I did two washer anti venom and mti with a ball. Definitely more effort than the stock shifter and notchy.
No springs and not a bolted on stick. So that's a plus.
I have the stock shifter in a box but I don't see going back.

I will have the springs today for the Antivenom mod and it sounds like the MTI shifter is the way to go for me. Thanks for helping me make up my mind.

This will do more than any upper shifter will.
