50lbs...not much difference.

Link didn't work. The C7 is the heaviest Corvette to date. I just saw your edit. You're correct. 50lbs is negligible, I was only stating that the C5's are lighter.
I understand you own both generations. Is there a substantial difference in driving "feel" between the two cars? I test drove a C7 a couple of years ago, and was very impressed with the throttle response and acceleration. It did feel a bit disconnected(?) with the mag. suspension, though. I guess I'm just used to feeling every imperfection in the road.

I've upgraded the suspension on my C-5 convertible (C6 shocks and sway bars etc) so it may ride a bit more harsh than a "stock" set up, both cars corner flat and feel like you're on rails. Both cars have approximately 30,000 miles on them, so both are still " tight".
I run Michelins on both cars.
Try the link again, I think I corrected it.

I'm an old Goshen class of 1981 graduate. Parents still live there. I'm in Middletown now, we should get together for the Playtogs cruise in on Friday nights or some other thing.

The C-7 (my Stingray) is more refined, much faster, and more comfortable.

I (still) receive many compliments on my C5 vert both from general car guys as well as the Corvette crowd. On many occasions, current C6/C7 owners I've met, have looked at my car, shook their heads, and comment "I wish I would have kept my C5" meaning not trading or selling, just adding.
I added HID and LED lighting a few years ago and last year, when picking up my niece from an after school event, I pulled into the pick-up line right around dusk. I flipped on the lights and many of the kids standing in line starting pointing and freaking out over the car. I then realized that many of these elementary school kids probably never saw a car with pop-up headlights.
Newer Corvettes should be faster and more advanced. However it's still fun to drive an "old" one as well.
