['tards] rather have something with 15-times the miles because cars that aren't driven are going to leak. [/'tards]

What an astute observation! This car could actually have a pan gasket leaking which would render the car virtually worthless!

I think its less about leaking and more about that these cars can go well over 200k with minimal maintenance. Mileage is not much of a premium on a non collectible car. Still a nice car is a nice car is a nice car.

If there is one universal truth in the car business...mileage always matters! While true that numerous C5's are reported to go high mileage, the cost to get there is not free. There is a vast difference how a 5,000 mile car drives and operates compared to a 75,000 mile car.

This. As cheap as you can buy a C5 for nowadays, why not buy a really nice one for a few thousand extra, and that one looks like a super nice example.

Both cars with low mileage and high mileage will leak. Fact of life. More a factor of time not mileage.

I would definitely go for the super low mileage car if I had the option.

It's not like the guy is selling at no reserve. He may still want way too much for it because of the low mileage.

It does say "no reserve". It should be worth $20K+.

I’d buy it if it went for a reasonable price realizing everyone’s perception of reasonable is different.

Personally, I won’t buy a car sight unseen. Why not just call the guy and ask him what he’ll take for it. His phone number is in his ad. Might want to ask him about leaks too.

This is true.
My car had 5000 miles when I picked it up, some 12+ years into it's life. That's only 417 miles per year- so about one road trip per year. So clean.

Except I still had to replace bearings, seals, and bushings around the entire car no less than a year into owning it.

Time does not care about mileage. There is a vast difference between taking care of your car and using it versus saving your car and not using it.

But hey, that GM plastic sure was clean.

Don't forget to immediately add on the cost of new tires and probably replace the TPMS's too.

It's not always the case. Your car could have been beat to hell every one of those 5000 miles. Bearings needed to be replaced? Interesting. A friend of mine that bought an extremely low mileage 10 year old car and proceeded to put a hundred thousand miles on it with zero issues. My car has sat in storage for almost 9 years of its life and it has no leaks and runs great.

My car had 4,000 miles after 14 years of being properly stored when I purchased it. After two years and an additional 4000 miles I have yet to replace a seal, bearing, or bushing. These items do not deteriorate and fall apart unless they are exposed to a lack of lubrication or extreme weather exposure or high operating temps.

Having been in the business for forty plus years, purchased and sold hundreds of extremely low mileage vehicles, this is not my first rodeo. Set the car out in front of the house in the yard and never take care of it...who knows what is going to go bad. Store and care for it properly, bushings, bearings and seals just flat don't fall apart!

Purchased with 3900 miles. It truly is a pleasure to drive
If you put 2000 or less miles on it in 3 years, how so you really know that it's a pleasure to drive ?
