It says the primary damage is REAR END. The damage may not be to the body which is why you don't see it. It could be to the underneath of the car (eg. car ran over something and it seriously damaged the back of the chassis.

That being said, could be a really good deal if it's a car you plan to keep forever (reason I say that is resale value would be quite low with a salvage/rebuilt title should you ever decide to sell it).

Let us know how much it ends up selling for, curious. I don't think Copart discloses selling/winning bid prices the way that ebay does.

Obviously the rear panels like the trunk have been replaced since the stripes are missing, and the panel alignment does not look very good. It could certainly be a good buy if you aren't concerned with resale value, but I wouldn't buy it sight unseen, personally.

Thanks everyone. Obviously it a resale from someone that fixed it. Doesn't look like it was taking care of in the first place by owner in Maine. http://showroom.auction123.com/vehic...545127604.html
This one might go high as it's at $9,300 already. Probably $13K max for me with a detailed inspection.

I would count on the frame being bent. It's a little suspect that accident damage was apparently repaired and the car was still totaled out. It shows that the title was transferred a month after the wreck, and then recently re-titled to the insurance company, which is really odd.

it could take a while for a title to get transferred, if totaled, any titles going thru copart, they need to be in an ins company name,as copart doesn't own them

the car could be fixed right, but id like to buy ''un-fixed'' thru an ins company-before somebody screwed with it

is there mileage from the accident [before] and at sale time,,it could tell you somebody drove it for a while and is just getting rid of it,,but if it doesn't have 20 miles since the wreck,it might not be fixed right

it could also be fixed right ,and the customer rejected the repairs[for as little as he didn't like the paint],at the bodyshop, and they ins totaled it,just to be done,,

or the stripe on the deck lid, isnt available anymore and the ins totaled ?[ive seen a few cars totaled for stupid things like -no parts]

I just reread the fl state info

it says ''JUNK'' TITLE,,BEFORE YOU BID,ID CALL THE COPART AND MAKE SURE IT IS SALAVAGE TITLE-THAT YOU CAN GET INSPECTED AND TURNED BACK INTO A REBUILT TITLE

OR ITS PARTS ONLY/JUNK

I have VERY little faith in what Copart, or any dealer that sells cars that are from Copart auctions, says about the condition of the car.

Example: In the summer of 2016, my wife was stopped for a traffic light, on a busy street near where we live. She was the fourth or fifth car in line. The jackass driving the next car coming up behind her, didn't see the overhead traffic signal, showing a red light, or the three red lights lit up on my wife's car. He plowed right into her, and shoved her into the car in front of her.

The car was a pristine, low mileage, 4 year old Jaguar XJ-L. Long story short, the car wound up being written off as a total, as the damage was in excess of $38,000. The car then went to a Copart auction.

I was curious about the process, so I ran a VIN search, and found the Copart listing of the car, and also the listing of the "reseller", who ultimately bought the car from Copart. They both emphasized the front end damage as being greater, which was a load of crap, as the rear end sustained a LOT of underbody damage. The rear bumper and supports, deck lid, quarter panel, trunk floor, electrical components, and exhaust system all sustained damage, too. But their description glossed over all of this, and summed it up as, "the rear bumper will need replacement"......

You need to be REALLY careful, when looking at a salvage car.
