Default 2003 50th Anniversary Real vs Fake

I was told all of the 50th Anniversary corvette's were built in the maroon color called 'Anniversary Red'. I've seen a lot of ads on 2003 models (other colors) calling their cars "Actual Anniversary Editions". I believe the actual cars sold as 'Anniversary' by GM were the one color. Anyone have a definitive answer on this? Appreciate your help.

For 2003, cars that had the optional 50th Anniversary Edition package on them were in fact painted anniversary red and had a shale interior. The package was only available on coupes and convertibles.

However, all 2003 cars had 50th anniversary emblems on the hood and rear deck and on items such as manuals and keys. Coupe and convertible tach and speedometer displays also had 50th emblems.

So to answer your question, only the anniversary red cars with a 1SC RPO code were the Anniversary Edition cars.

Nobody’s out there faking a corvette they built more than 11,000 of. Maybe misunderstanding the 50th badge on their 03 but that’s all it is.

They built just under 8k but they still are not rare or hard to find.

Never confuse limited edition for rare as most are not.

Rare is 1200 or less with strong demand.

I have not seen any 2003's w/o the 50th cross-flag badges fore & aft. Maybe some did not have the front-fender "50" badge?

There were 7,547 convertibles and 4,085 coupes built.

11,632 50th Anniversary Package (RPO: 1SC) cars produced in total.

All 03’s including my Millenium Yellow Z06 came with the 50th Anniversary Silver colored badges front and rear…. Is a there a chance an error was made at the factory sure….. but that’s all it was an error. Any 03’s you see with the standard black crossed flag badges have been replaced. The fender badge was isolated to the 1SC Anniversary Package RPO code cars that all came in Anniversary Red with Shale interior.

I haven't seen many, maybe one or two, but there ARE in fact fake 50th cars out there. I've seen them. One had a tan interior. One giveaway was as Vetteman Jack stated, it should've had a 50th tach and speedo, but the tach and speedo had no 50th badges. Another was no F55 magnetic ride. The seats did have the 50th. This car was obviously faked, but he didn't take the dash out to swap the 50th tach and speedo. I don't know how he did 50th on the tan seats. Probably an upholstery shop did it. The guy probably thinks they're worth a lot more than they are. I saw a 50th for sale yesterday at a Corvette show. $20,000 firm, and with 99,000 miles!!! IMHO, 20k with Fall 3 weeks away on a 100k miles C5 tells me he either bumped his head, or doesn't want to sell.
