The GM one is Korean, as is the A/C Delco one (made by Gates). I don't like their belts, but Dayco is American-Made.
All that being said, I bought a manually adjustable Katech unit.

my plan is to go A&A supercharger kit this fall... I just realized that may replace this anyway lol. I need to pull up the install instructions and see now.

I bought an open box AC Delco tensioner on Amazon for cheap. Keep an eye out for open box and 'no packaging' items on Amazon. They basically take items where the boxes have been destroyed or missing, and throw the item into a bad and sell them for up to 50% off. All fulfilled by Amazon (no third party). Little known secret they keep.

yeah if you're going with a&a the oem tensioner gets ditched anyway, a&a has a real nice tensioner with their new brackets so you will be good to go... the a/c tensioner you will still use though and I recommend to replace that idler/tensioner/belt regardless just because of how much work is involved to get them off once the blower is installed, just my opinion

I bought a Katech tensioner myself last week. Should be installing it over the weekend. Seems like a nice piece and it comes in a lot of colors to incorporate to your engine color setup (which I did)
Never been so excited to change out a serpentine belt and tensioner before lol.

I thought i was going to have to replace my tensioner a few weeks ago but found out it was just the pulley bearing. New pulley $12.00, didn't care where it came or who made it (lifetime guarantee).

I just went with all Dayco tensioners, pulleys and even their Powerbond harmonic balancer.
GM or AC Delco wants way to much.
My 03 Vert is stock and I'm keeping it that way.
Good Luck!
