playing with plastidip
Had some fun with plastidip over the weekend with my backup wheels. Probably going to pull the tow-hook off and match the red on the emblems to the blue next weekend

That is different and good thing is if you get tired of it, it is easy to remove.

They are C7 emblems. I had originally planned on removing my emblems when I had my front fascia re-sprayed, but the body shop didn't feel comfortable plugging the holes, saying they would show back up again over time. The C7 emblem doesn't use holes and just uses double sided tape to stay in place so I covered the holes with it

Wow, I know pictures are two dimensional but that color and texture makes the wheels look like those crazy expensive ones people special order with custom anodizing or powder coat. I'd like to see a closer picture but those came out very nice. Good job.
Is that an off the shelf can of plasti dip or did you custom mix and top coat with a clear or pearl?

Found a pretty awful pothole and bent one of the wheels. Need to get it repaired but it's going to be a challenge since the bronze finish was a tinted paint over a brushed aluminum base. Gonna take my time and find a really good shop to try to salvage the finish

Not a fan of the color...looks too "boy racer". A less bright/loud color would look great though.

Update, I took the front end apart this week, replaced the headlights and housings, dipped the tow hook and emblems to match and refreshed my front grilles with some durable black epoxy paint. Very happy with the final result, the car looks 10 years younger!!

Ever consider blacking out part of the headlight housings to blend them with the car more? Just leave the beam exposed like the C5R had. Could wrap the outside with black gloss pretty easily, or plastidip inside the lense. Would look cleaner. Shown in yellow below, but they also did the sister car in black a lot of times.
