Default This is why you don't let your daughter drive your Vette..

My 16 year old Daughter has been begging to drive the Vette since i bought it. I havent given in not once, even for her Junior prom. Her truck I bought her has had the motor blow up ,so ive been letting her borrow my truck. This was done when she decided it would be fun to go mudding with her friends at 3am when she told me she was at a friends house NOT mudding Gotta love being a parent.

There are a lot worse things your daughter could be into than playing off-road.

Hopefully her tenners are in good shape. If she was my daughter, she would be doing a LOT of walking for a while!

I don't have kids so maybe my idea doesn't count, but I would be upset I was lied to, especially when you are letting her borrow your truck.

The smashed in bed, was she really mudding or was this a accident on the street or a hit and run with a parked car, telephone pole, tree?

She lied about being at friend's house already, what if her and friends were at someone else's house (guys or girls) drinking and left drunk and hit whatever that messed up your truck and split?

"Oh my god, my dad is going to be so pissed, what do I do?" Other friends "Go off roading and make it like truck slid and hit tree?"

I could be way off, but anything is possible, if I had kids I would probably be worried often.

She doesn't deserve to drive any of your vehicles now, let alone your Corvette.

Be glad nobody was hurt, and lookout for insurance rates to skyrocket if you make the claim, might be better to not mention to insurance company and just pay out of pocket to fix.

For me this falls under the category of “the price of admission “. Discipline her and then give her a big hug, it could be a lot worse.

If you're into cars and she's into trucks, build a mud truck with her, when she has skin in the game and understands the fruits of the labor ,she should be less of an a-hole about it. But I don't have kids, this logic works in business

I'm with you. Lying was the worst part. Hard to ever trust her again and she definately would be walking from now on.

hey shes alive, not pregnant, and not married to some slime ball, not doing drugs.....you can live with this one. don't you guys remember being young, I wonder how I lived....its a freaking miracle. take this one take in stride and as you said make her walk a lot and she pays the body shop guy in cash she earned.....even if you can live with the damage make her pay to get it fixed. looks like she slid into a tree, good luck bob, parent of 4....grand parent of 4....and still amazed I lived through my youth

I hear ya man,I was no angel myself, but I paid for my truck and suffered the consequences when I tore it up. Like I said before I’m thankful that’s the worst she’s done. Oh, and it’s a square tube bumper that caused the damage... video showed it and it’s a perfect impression! lol!!!

They tend to take care of stuff they bought themselves a little better. I know I did.
