Default Maybe bye to C5

Thanks to all who have helped and complimented me with dream car, for over 13 yrs and a 196k miles, it might be gone. After dodging multiple hurricanes and tropical storms in Houston, a flash flood got me yesterday and flooded me and my car. No rain when leaving my house for work,13.5 miles later, pouring down and flooding. Turned down one street right onto a wall of water, didn't even have time to back up. Engine shut down, I got out and walked to work and when I came back, the floorboards were soaked and satellite receiver smoking and hot. I'll be waiting for the adjuster and will follow up, I was hoping to get pics with it and my new C7 which is arriving from CA tomorrow. I had fun on here and good luck to all. L8R ZFLASH

Yeah, real sad ending for that badass wide body. That’s a bummer.

Thanks guys,we'll see how it goes. Even with the new one coming, I'm still kind of depressed. I really loved this car and it still looks fantastic and turns a lot of heads. I was looking forward to playing with both of these and having two bad*ss looking cars. L8R ZFLASH

Big bummer about a beautiful C5, but you'll soon get over it with your C7. Have fun with the new toy!

Sorry to hear about the bad luck with the flash flood. You had a beautiful C5. Good luck with the insurance company and hope they are fair in a settlement if they total it.

Sorry to hear.
I spent my first 25 years in Houston and remember the hurricanes and flash floods well but do not miss them one bit.
Enjoy your new C7!

Sorry to hear about the Vette. Hopefully insurance gives you a decent amount of money for the total.

What an absolutely beautiful car. Sorry for your loss, I'd like to put in first claim on those wheels if you part it out or whatever.

One of the better looking C5's around. Really sorry to hear that happened to you. I know you'll miss it if it does get totalled but that new C7 will ease the pain a little I think. Can't wait to see what you do with that one.

That blows.
I once considered buying your car when you had it up for sale. Love the rims, wide body, well hell, the whole car
Best wishes

Kinds sad to see a beauty like that be totaled, but relying to get it back on the road will be nightmare with the computers getting water logged, BUT the bright side, you have a new ride coming.

Tough way to end, but you certainly had a nice run with it.
I have considered a C7 for a while now but keep thinking how much I like my C5.
Good luck with the new one!

C7 interior is TIGHT if you're tall. C5 has a lot more room for sure. I have tried 4 times to part with my C5Z and go C6Z and even then C7...I just don't want to get rid of my C5Z in exchange and I haven't been able to justify both. Slowly I'm getting there...getting my C5Z to a point where a C7 GS could truly compliment it versus compete with it. I think that's critical to owning two Corvettes...they have to be very different and serve different purposes, otherwise you'll just drive the newer one.
