Mod Yellow Interior Completed - What Do You Guys/Gals Think?
I've been replacing some of the vinyl covered interior trim pieces with custom made leather covers. My car is a 2001 Millenium Yellow/Black Convertible with black interior. I wanted to add some color contrast to the interior so I installed new millenium yellow leather ala Z06 Mod Red

I prefer the before, but it's pretty nice.

I hear you, I was convinced I would never change the original all black. Once I started the makeover, I realized how much I liked it and how unique it made my car look. I also did some chrome under the hood but not crazy, just enough to make a difference.

I think adding some color to the interior is a good move - not a fan of a monotone interior. Your interior really stands out now - we’ll done. The only thing I’m not sold on is just the headrest in yellow.

I agree ‘some’ color is needed, and I do like the ‘Mod Yellow’ idea, just not the products you used. I would have held off, got some more $$$ together, and had some Pro seat covers/ etc. Stitched up for a more ‘finished’ look. Sorry, don’t want to rain on your parade, but you DID ask!
The door handles, and grab handle above the glove box look ‘clunky’ cause I Imagine they are a fixed with Velcro. But the big offender for me are the ‘strap on’ headrests, again probably using Velcro are very puckered.
I hope you’re not going to put a ’Wheelskin’ (with the Frankenstein stitching) on your SW, cause they look bloody cheesy. Spend the money on a Pro SW recover that looks better than factory new. You have your SW in your hands the entire time you drive, it should look/ feel the nicest of any interior mod.
As I said ‘some’ color is needed, but I think you’re going overboard. Subtle enhancements, Less IS more!

I like the added color. Actually I'm thinking about doing the mod red door panels and dash to my torch red car. Was it difficult putting the lower panel back on after you removed it? I saw another thread that showed it bolted back together instead of gluing it. Not sure how good the glue would hold. Thanks for the post and Redline info!

I like it except for the boots. a little too much. like the shift ball, would have covered the brake handle instead of boot, headrest, jury still out. airbag lettering in yellow would be nice

I dig the lower door panels, but I would have stopped there. But don't mind me, I'm not a fan of the colors red or yellow so it all looks too over the top for me.

I think it looks pretty decent and I'm not much of a yeller fan to begin with. Know when to say when though. If you like it, that's really all that matters.

Although I like the black/yellow contrast, I would have made it a little more subtle and have used two tone black/yellow for the boots. And, I would consider a small amount of yellow in the seat covers when it's time to replace them. Let black be the primary color with simple accents of yellow. I think that's the problem with the yellow head rest cover; you go from all black to all yellow So just do everything all over. See how it is easy for us to spend your money

I like the door panels.
I like the door panels, I was thinking about doing mine but thought it might be too much yellow with what I already have. I sold my yellow floor mats because of that reason.

I appreciate all the work that went into that, and it's your car, your taste, but I find that over the top, very distracting, and almost tacky. JMHO,

Just my $0.02 worth....I agree with "mrlmd"....the interior on "twill's" ride nicely done but a bit too much...we all know we own a Corvette but how many emblems / logos do we need to prove it to ourselves or others....it's kind of overkill to me....reminds me of my old wakeboard boat....it was 21 feet long, max capacity of 9 persons but had 18 cupholders....LOL.
In the end it doesn't matter what we like....it's your ride and you should be happy with it!
