Garage Queen or sell it
Sadly I have no time to drive the 99 vert. The only time would be weekends , but we go to VT a lot. Those roads are not very friendly to , well anything. The car is super clean, garaged forever, low miles. I think if I bring it up there it will get murdered. So it sits. Paint protection is an option but an expensive one. Just don't know what to do.

That's up to you, if you're that scared to drive a car then you probably should sell it. That being said If the roads in VT are paved then the car will live, part of owning these cars is the enjoyment of driving. How long have you owned it and miles on the car?

So it takes up storage space, I assume has insurance costs and is rarely used. It's not rare or collectable and won't go up in value. Tires, hoses and fuel ages and don't like sitting. Decision sounds easy. I still have a summer home in VT but leave my 02 vert if Florida during my visit up there. Yes the roads are very bad and the last mile to my lakefront camp is unpaved. Let it go. If your situation changes it will be easy to find another one, possibly for less money. Perhaps start by putting a fat price on it but it's likely worth more to you (in your mind) than the next buyer. Good luck!

There are several things to consider.
1) Does the car create a financial burden by sitting there? Not sure if you own the car or making payments. Is insurance worth it?
2) Is there something else you would buy in place of the Vette and enjoy more?
3) Are your current circumstances expected to remain or change in the not too distant future?
4) What bothers you more; having the car sit or driving it and having it's paint get blemishes?
I have a 278,000 mile Z06 that I drive everywhere. It still gets compliments so it apparently doesn't look too bad to the general public. I enjoy the car for what it is. I don't care what other Vette owners think because I'm having fun. I did meet someone who used to own a C5 that he didn't drive because he showed it. After seeing my car, he claimed he wished he knew how well they hold up because he would have driven his more.

DIY Ceramic coating is a great low price paint protection option. Labor intensive, but well worth it. If my paint weren’t garbage I’d have already done it.
Gives your car a deep shine as if it’s freshly waxed, imo it’s a much cleaner and wetter looking shine. (btw you no longer need to wax it after either.

drive it, drive that instead of your 'daily' vehicle daily, then use your normal transportation to trips on the crap roads. i don't have 'time' to drive my 04 vert, but i drive it everywhere i go when the weather is nice, half nice, or has the potential to be nice [ya, it see's rain], i bought it for the fun factor, not the take up garage space factor. enjoy it.......

I have Hagerty insurance on it so it can't be a daily driver. The roads are paved..until they are totally not..then its gravel and pot holes. Its not a financial burden ..just sits there on a charger. I do get to some shows here and there. 38K miles 6 speed silver vert. Just don't want to ruin it..its too nice.

19 years old and not driven......sell it and when you want to come back renew the model year and start again

Sell. My Z is my DD all but winter. If it weren't it'd be sold. I have much more important things than to keep a car shiny in a garage.

If you’re not driving it and are worried about the rough roads, sell the car. Or just drive it and not worry about the possibility of getting some damage - enjoy the car and put some miles on it.

My car is probably one of the lowest cars you will see, and I live near the city of Worcester, MA where there are some of the worst roads in central MA. Pick your routes carefully and drive the **** out of it. I put almost 500 miles on mine this weekend. For as many bad roads as there are, there are good ones too.

Curious question: Would you sell a car not worth much then replace it with another car worth twice as much to drive on crappy roads? C5's are so cheap now I considered buying one as a winter car. I'd be inclined to wrap the vulnerable areas in clear and enjoy the heck out of it. Might not make economic sense to sell a 15k car and then drive a 25k car on those crappy roads to protect the cheaper car.

I would drive a '99 Corvette until it was ready for the last drive to the salvage yard.
I use my '01 convertible, I don't abuse it and why not, we don't hesitate to drive our 2011 Highlander anywhere, anytime (and it is worth far more than our Corvette). How many $50,000 plus cars to you see driving the roads you are concerned about? Probably lots of them.
Put another way, for what you could sell your nearly 20 year old car for, you'd be lucky to have enough money to buy a 2018 Kia Rio ($14,000 +TTL). Nobody askes if they should daily drive their Kia Rio, do they? I suspect not.
The only logical thing to do is drive the car. Emotionally if you are not prepared to do this- then there is no reasoning with an emotion- you have to do what your heart is telling you to do.
PS- these cars are a heck of a lot tougher than you might think- ground clearance is an issue- but otherwise these cars are built "hell for stout."

I put my 1999 6 speed convertible back on the road September 2017, after having it parked since May 2013.
Drove the girlfriend to California and we went to Catalina Island for my 40th birthday, left the Corvette parked almost 2 days in Long Beach parking garage, it was fine.
Tomorrow I'm taking it to see Jaws in the theater, always heard that's a bad place for cars to get stolen, it's my daily driver now, first time going to a theater in it.
Drive that car, enjoy it while you can!

The real question is, why do you have a $40K mini van????
