Default low oil level

We just took a trip with the local Corvette Club to the car show in Iola Wi. On the way back the DIC displayed "low oil level". It also showed 43 psi oil pressure and 216 degrees oil temp. Outside temp was about 87 degrees. I stopped and checked oil. It showed a quart low, so I stopped in the next town and added a quart. Everything was good for a while then the "low oil level" came on again. I hit reset and it went out. Came back on about 10 miles later. Checked oil again. Showed full. Motored on. message came on one more time. I hit reset and it stayed out the rest of the way home, about 30 miles. Everything seem OK now. Any ideas why the message kept intermittently displaying after I added oil? Thanks...

My low oil light came on once after crossing South Dakota, it was 95 to 100 degrees and I was averaging 80 to 90 mph for almost 4 hours. After I topped it off the light has not come on again in 2 years. Might be some kind of glitch with the sensor. I would check oil when ever the light comes on just to be safe.
How was the trip? How about some pictures?

It sounds like your oil level sensor is acting up and may be about ready to go out if you actually have an acceptable oil level in the car. Here is a file that might help:

It's pretty easy to change the sensor, isn't it?

It must be the sensor as it still came on with plenty of oil. Im not sure it would come on being one qt low anyway if it was working correctly.
