Default Help- What would you pay?!! 02 Coupe/Targa 6 Spd 75K

Looking for some advice. I am looking at a 2002 Coupe/Targa in silver with 75,000 miles. This is a 2 owner car, original owner has some routine maintenance records and did the majority of the miles and ownership. The most recent owner has put on only 10k miles within the last 2 years, kept in the garage, did normal maintenance, changed the battery, and replaced 1 tire. Carfax shows a clean title with no accidents. Overall condition of the body is above average with no scratches, blemishes, or spider cracks. Interior needs a good cleaning, but otherwise in overall good condition with the driver seat side bolster starting to ever-so slightly separate. It does have a HUD that is functional and the 6-speed isn't notchy and seems to be smooth in each gear while test driving. The suspension felt ok in the turns and over bumps and the stock oil pressure gauge read 40psi during my duration of the test drive. I am coming from a S2000 so this is a biased opinion, although I loved the torque at low RPM's. I am taking it to a dealership tomorrow, just for a once-over diagnostic breakdown, and I know it needs at the minimum all new tires and possibly brakes. What would you guys say the car is worth or should i walk from the deal????

I offered $12,000 contingent upon the diagnostic check

You can check the codes yourself with the DIC, YouTube it 12 seems like a little high number. Seem some lower and some higher. Good luck.

If there are no Current codes, 12k is a good price. Buy it, and welcome to the madness!

Came in the thread ready to say $12. You made a good offer.

After searching for months for a magnetic red coupe with a 6-speed in a fair price range, I finally settled for an auto with 135k miles, shredded seat covers/foam, & in need of a few small odds and ends for $9,500. And I live in Bowling Green where vettes are a dime a dozen and everything is a bit cheaper. I found three 6 speeds in nearly identical condition to mine within 300 miles of me. They all wanted $4,000-5,000 more than what I paid for mine & they wouldn't budge on the price.

I agree, good price. If everything checks out, and it's what you want, buy it. Then put 100k more miles on it.

I'm already looking at a Z06 brake conversion and upgrading the wheels. Hopefully I am not being premature!

I think a lot depebds on location. I paid 17,000 for a two owner 2004 convertible with 52,000 miles in excellent condition.

i haven"t seen any others for less, but I had someone tell me I overpaid...so who knows...

In any case, I am happy with my purchase and in the end, that's what counts.

If you can close the deal at $12K, that's a very good price. Hope it works out for you.

The C-5 Z06 brakes are the same as the standard, they are powder coated while base car's are not.
Put your money in C-6 Z06 sway bars and shocks, cheapest and best mod for the money.

I’m in agreement with good offer and Ninet6 put a 100k on with a huge smile no grin.

Stock thin spokes on it? Polished or painted? Arguably (by me, for one) that you can't improve on polished thin spokes for appearance. Spend the money on gas!

If you can get an '02 for that price, you should spend some time in jail for being a thief. Most of the '01s and up are priced much higher. In fact most of the ones I've been seeing, the sellers are asking over $20K for them. I guess they think they're made of gold...

Honestly, I think those are some of the ugliest wheels they've put on a Vette, but I wouldn't let which wheels the car has on it influence my decision to buy or not....wheels are pretty cheap to replace...

I've found them as low as 6k, around 8k without a salvaged title. Around 10k in the same mileage area as the op was looking at. Some folks do think they're gold though.

Any C5 I've seen for $10k or less usually has a ton of miles, is in poor condition, or a combination of both. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I'm looking for a low mileage, 1 or 2 owner car, and those are going for upper teens to lower 20s...
