Worked on more stereo wiring this weekend. Installed the HDMI/USB plug for android auto and cut the hole for the hard drive cable in the console. Got the radio wired up. I still need to move the pink wire in the factory harness for the 5v antenna module lead to match up another wire I'm going to use on the harness adapter. I also have a 12v to 5v convertor that I'll be using to get the 5v power to the antenna module. Got all of the other wiring completed, but found out the left front amp output does not work so I need to exchange that amp. Everything else works great. Tested the back up camera so I can mount that soon. I ordered an antenna coax extension since the factory one is so short. Once I have that I can get the head unit mounted. Here are a few progress pictures.

Got the rest of the wiring done for the head unit. Just waiting for the replacement amp to get here. So got one door panel on. I had to repair a tab on the passenger door panel. I had forgotten to post a picture after I had changed out to blue LEDS in the interior. I'll have to post some more of those when I get the car back together.

How did you mount the head unit?

It's not in yet, but I bought the Vette Nuts double din dash/console bezel and it came with mounting hardware for the head unit.

Picked up one of these Homelink garage door remotes from a 99 Caddy. I have this in a couple of other cars. The plan is to put it in place of the ashtray. Made a little progress on the panel today. I still need to drill holes for the 3 RCA jacks I'm going to put in.

Got the panel done for the garage remote and RCA inputs. I'll be remaking this since I got the red RCA input crooked a little bit, but this one will do for now.

Installed the back up camera, cut the tray out for the radio and test fitted the new bezel. I'm going to put in threaded rivets for the radio tray when I reinstall it so it will be removable in the future with just 4 screws.

Installed the rivets, cut the back ledge off of the radio tray and reinstalled it.

Thank you very much! Little slow right now. I've been waiting for my sub box to get here. The first one was made for a single sub when I ordered it for a dual. Should have that this week though. The radio brackets that came with the double din bezel from Vettenuts broke. Second pair of these I got from them that broke. So I am looking into getting some metal ones or making my own. Got my new license plates in yesterday for my 80 Camaro and the Vette which let me put the plate surround on and the back up black outs on finally. You can also see where I mounted the back up camera above the license plate. I had some custom decals made that I colored and designed to replace the Bose emblem with a Polk Audio emblem to go with the Polk speakers I am using. They didn't make them quite right, you can see where the A and U are not straight. I will probably have some better ones made in the future, but these will work for now.

Received the subwoofer box and cover the other day for my 10" JL Audio subwoofers. I put in some carpet pieces to cover up the grey cargo inserts. Also made up some radio brackets based on the Vette Nuts brackets I glued back together for a template after they broke. They don't look pretty, but should do the job.

Head unit and dash bezel are installed. Had to do a little filing around the sides of the bezel so the DVD door would open properly.

LOVE that subwoofer setup. How much does the lid muffle the sound? My car came with a really cool early 2000's audio install with a custom box and whatnot, but it ruined my trunk space. That seems like a simple solution to the problem.

Also, are you using CarPlay with that deck? I lost nearly all of my bass when I swapped from an older Kenwood to that unit. I've played with every setting imaginable and cannot get anything out of it.

Thank you. No muffle, I'm using the subs on a one channel mono amp so they are bass only. I am using Android Auto with my Pioneer head unit. I have no problems with getting bass. There is an option in the settings of the head unit for turning the subwoofer on and off and you can change its phase. It's default is off.

That's excellent. I think Android Auto is better in that regard. I've played with all the settings on the sub and the only way to get anything out of it is to adjust the LPF, phase and gain. Having had Avics in the past with other cars, I never needed to crank the sub level as high as I did with this deck.
