Short answer: no. Lol. Loved both of my C5's, and would love a C5Z for daily duty, but... I won't be trading my C6 for one.

Yes and no. I love the looks of the C5 so much more than the C6. But the C6 is much better to drive.

Had a 2008 z51 c6 coupe and a 2015 z51 c7 coupe. Previously owned a 99 Nassau Blue c5 coupe. I've gone back now to a 2003 anniversary red convertible. Very happy to be back in a c5.

Old thread but relevant topic for what I'm considering (a C7).

If I could have the suspension and interior (minus the techno do-dads) of a C7 but on a C5 body, would be best of all worlds!

Just happen to be huge fan of C5 design. Curvy, sexy, oh yeah.

As others have said they each have their positives. Have a 2002 and a 2017. Friends call my C5 the 'beater vette' I love the performance of the C7 but the C5 just feels more at home- like a favorite pair of jeans. C5 has become my DD and C7 is the trip car and out with the wife. Both are awsum and I am lucky to have both in my garage.

Would be hard to let go of the last big CI 427 Vette despite all the engine problems they have. (shame on GM) Rods, cam/lifter/head issues what the hell is that? They will always have a bad rap.

However I love the look of the C5z, hp isnt everything. If $ permits one day I will have an ultra low mi Silver or Black/grey one.
To me I have to love the way a car looks, power is secondary. The C6z certainly has a nice aggressive look to it but the C5z just has a more unique look imo.

Saw Mamos C5 go from a stocker to a near 500rwhp 346. It would take a decent ear to tell it had any cam at all, ran like stink. Impressive-

Yeah, the c5 has what I'd consider to be a very classy, refined design ( and unique as stated above). Mine is my weekend therapy ride and my show car. Very happy with it. Loved my first c5 from days long past as well. The c6 is sort of an in between of the good looks of the c5 and the mean look of the c7 (and the c7 nailed it perfectly). So I never felt like my c6 really hit the mark. The c7 is flipping awesome to be sure. But the c5 feels like home to me. And .. the c5 happens to sport the best looking emblem

I sold my 2017 C7 Grand Sport because it was a toy for me and I no longer wanted, or needed, $60k+ tied up in a toy. I sold it while it still had good resale value and bought a one owner 2003 C5Z with 24k miles on it. Looked virtually brand new and cost me 1/3 of the C7 GS cost. I drove it and was instantly hooked! I love the look of the C5 FRC and the performance of this car isn't bad at all. I've been slowly modifying it to suit my desires for it and it is really improving. Real bargain IMO.

I thoroughly enjoyed all three of my C5s. Had a C5 for nearly 18 years between the three. I just got my C7 last November so hard to say whether I would ever go back to a C5 again. But as of right now, no plans to do so. The C7 is just a much more capable car IMO.

Went from a brand new C7 Z to a new 18 Raptor and a H/C/I C5 Z06. Don’t regret it at all!
