Default Wax On, Wax...still on!!

It's been so humid lately, my usual carnuba wax is not drying properly leaving streaks and swirls! Driving me nutz!!! What wax are you using that still works when it's 90%+ humidity?

Jax Wax liquid carnuba . Easy on easy off. South west Florida. Doesn't get much more hot and humid than down here.

You're probably using too much.

Keep on wiping. Let it dry some more and wipe again. Lived in Houston for a long time and was very used to high humidity.

Use some quick detailer to assist in getting any residue off.

I use Turtle Wax Ice on my car, but the quick detailer spray should help.

Default Rejex for me

Been using Rejex for many years. It's made for boats and planes too. It's the only wax that still beads up in the rain after a year.

Switching to a synthetic instead of a carnauba will help. I run synthetic sealant on my daily driver and have no streaks or dark spots. But, like you, I love carnaubas on my Z06. The humidity this year has been awful. I haven't stopped sweating since May. My car is currently wearing a coat of Adam's Buttery Wax, but after driving the car around this past weekend, I did a waterless wash and then wiped the whole car down with a coat of Optimum spray wax. And, yeah, both the Adam's wax and Optimum wax were difficult to apply without streaks or dark patches. I apply my waxes at night when it is a little cooler, and run my garage fan. I try to apply the thinnest layer of wax possible, give it a lot of extra drying time, and then don't wipe it off unless it passes the finger-swipe test. When I wipe it off, I use twice as many towels as usual. Afterwards, I give the whole car a wipe-down with a detail spray that does not contain any wax (so, no Adam's). I find Kenotek Showroom Shine to work the best at wiping out any streaks or dark patches.

That's what I finally tried and it worked. I let it all dry overnight and gave a wipe this morning and it looks good.

Just go with Rejex and you won't have to do that again for maybe another year. And no streaks.

FW1 Racing formula. It's available RGSLabs.com. It's a waterless wash and wax with carnauba in it. It works great regardless of humidity. Lasts a long time too.
