Question for ya... I was looking at the C5ZR rear conversion for my 98. I like the look of it. I was wondering if anyone has done this conversion. If so, I have some questions about the install, and would love to see some pics of it. I've attached a pic I found just for reference.
There was a member years ago that had that bumper. He had his EBZ repainted in kind of a Baldwin’s motion scheme. Awesome looking car. I don’t know that he is active anymore and can’t remember his user name BUT I know I have pics of his car saved on my old laptop in my locker at work. I’ll try to fire up the ole girl tomorrow and post pics for you. He also mounted a C6 diffuser it wasn’t a breathless but maybe apr or something. I’m pretty sure the picture I have it wasn’t lined up properly yet but as you can see from the picture of Pete’s old car you posted it looks pretty sharp buttoned up
A word of advise...that bumper will take ALOT of work to fit and even then you very likely will not get it to line up properly. Proceed with that warning in mind. Good luck
Funny, after posting I thought I bet FYRARMS has these pics saved. Wallah. Bumper looks like it could be hung a little better. The diffuser wasn't lined up and who knows if it ever ended up lined up but Pete's worked perfect with a C6 factory "diffuser". If you dig on it I'd do it. If I purchased another C5 instead of other interests I might copy this setup including the Baldwin Motion scheme, or close to it, and I'd roll with the two tip BPP diffuser.

I once thought about running this bumper, cutting a rectangle out of it to use the OEM C5 reverse lamp setup, and then use the APR carbon fiber rear diffuser. But, two things stopped me. 1) The poor fit and the work required to make it the way it should be. 2) The C6 rear bumper is much shorter than that of the C5. The underside of the C6 diffuser, the portion towards the front of the car, is too short for a C5-length bumper. An OEM C6 diffuser looks okay, because it doesn't hang down far and the length difference isn't noticeable. But, the APR unit hangs low, so it looks odd from the side, like it is just hanging there. There is a gap between the rear wheel wells and the diffuser, Hope that makes sense. LOL
My friend Randy runs this bumper with an OEM C6 diffuser. I will use his car to show what I am talking about. In the first picture, the red dots show the back of the wheel well, and the red line shows the front of the diffuser. Note the gap, and note how it isn't that noticeable. I used my masterful MS Paint skills to paint an APR diffuser on his car in the second picture. Since it hangs lower, that rear wheel well-to-diffuser gap really stands out. Anyway, just a tip. If you get this bumper, run an OEM diffuser. LOL

those reverse lights look WAY more useful there... except wasn't the reason for the slots in the C5 rear to help alleviate the parachute effect the fascia creates due to the underside being open (allowing air to go up there in the first place)? this looks like you have to choose between lights or aerodynamics.

Still learning things about my car... I always assumed it was to help keep the area around the exhaust cool.
I made my diffuser based off of the stock C6 diffuser. Had to cut, lengthen, and mold the C6 piece to fit the C5 rear fascia. This is the rear diffuser that Pete from Carbon Creationz put into production. This was made to install on the factory C5 rear fascia with no cutting or drilling to the rear bumper.

Ok so I have been pondering selling my 02 Z for a C6, I really want a 2009 ZR1 but not willing to spend $60,000 on a 10 year old car. I think I like this look enough to do this and take the old girl down a different road.
Who sells this beauty? And have any of you seen it with a wide fender setup?

You can pick up an '09 ZR1 for less than $60k. Only the ultra low mileage examples command that price. Now is the time to buy, bud.
