Default Woke Up As New Owner

This morning I woke up as the new owner of a 2003 Special Anniversary convertible Corvette. First Corvette. Absolutely thrilled. With thanks to the Corvette Forum here is how it went down: Several years ago it became a dream to own a Vette, several weeks ago I was in a position to actually shop for one. By this time I had narrowed down my preference for 2003 Anniversary. I found one locally in nice shape, in my price range, but it had 180,000 miles. I asked the Forum for guidance on how to proceed. Several members shared their wisdom for which I am grateful. The overall consensus was "pass on this, a better car is out there." Deferring to the Forum's wisdom I passed and continued my search. Lo and Behold! A Vette Forum member reached out to me and said, "If you considered one with 180,000 miles why not consider mine with half that much?" Made sense to me. So it turns out, 3 1/2 hours away was the "perfect" car - extremely clean, well maintained, Anniversary with 90,000. This car was owned by Craig, a real car guy and knowing Vette owner. He was helpful and patient in answering many questions. So my wife and I made a day of it, traveled from Houston to San Antonio, saw the car, test drove, fell in love with it, bought it and then enjoyed lunch together with Craig and his wife - their treat! Drove my "new" Vette home last night, tucked it away, and woke up this morning to see my Vette in my driveway waiting for its next adventure with its new owner. So thanks to Corvette Forum and thanks to Craig! My story begins!
Gary

Beautiful car. Be sure to read the stick at the top of this section on C5s to learn the idiosyncrasies.

What a beauty!! I love stories like yours. I bought my dream car in 2007, a yellow 03 vert. One of the absolute happiest days of my life. And no lie, I get the same thrill driving it today as I did on day one! I hope your experience is the same. Cheers and congrats!
