Nice solution to the bright screen. Thanks for sharing the tip.

Nice, I have a Kenwood as well and it's pretty bright - Any issues with the touchscreen sensitivity?

No sensetivity issues.
I tried to find tempered glass but only the film was available.
I used a little window film application solution to keep it from falling off.
If you only use water it will fall off the protector when it dries.
I used a fresh bondo spreader to gently squeeze out the bubbles
between the screen, film, and tint..
Seems to be holding up so far.

I have thought about this approach a few times and wondered if it might work. Have not taken the time to try it. What percent window tint did you use?

Sorry the tint was 65/35 not 80/20
It's good at night and during the day.
The film solution wasn't enough and the curling tint fell off overnight so I gave it a light mist of spray adhesive.
The screen protector doesn't fall off and is easily removable.
It's not going to fall off now.

I found some smoke tinted gray and ordered it.

I also cut the corner out where the clock is as it was harder to see during the day.
I like the clock brighter.

Your head unit doesn't have a brightness setting?
My Alpine has an auto-brightness sensor

It's a Kenwood.
They're known for some models being very bright at night.
The orange dimmer wire doesn't hardly do anything
when energized no matter what the dimmer setting.
Used to cut brightness 5% now nothing.
That's why I posted this here.
I got Kenwood because I like Garmin NAV and no one else has it.
