museum's 25th anniversary caravan
I know... I know... it's really early to be talking about caravaning to the museum next year....but it's our first visit to bowling green in our first corvette. Our trip down from CT is all set...We're cruising down with the New England Caravan, but it' that trip back to CT that I'm looking for some input. I'm not planning on rocketing back but thinking of more of leisurely trip up the coast. What I'd like is some suggestions for places to stop or attractions from folks who have already made this trip. If you have places to sleep that wouild be a bonus...
Thanks in advance.

Go over to the Tail of the Dragon (Google it if you are unfamiliar with it) then make your way up to the Blue Ridge Parkway - beautiful scenery.

On the western side of North Carolina in Asheville is Biltmore, George Vanderbilt's tiny cottage (or actually the largest home in the US).
If you like military museums there is the Airborne and Special Operations museum in Fayetteville and the battleship North Carolina in Wilmington, NC.
There's also the NASCAR museum in Charlotte, and many of the major NASCAR team shops around the Charlotte area have either museums or shop tours.
And for a change in pace, go whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River!

We too are heading that way with the Atlantic Caravan. We are stopping at three places before Bowling Green. Then after that Nashville is an hour south. From there we are looking at the tail of the dragon and then going on up and taking the blue ridge parkway to skyline drive and then home to NJ

Well if you'll be doing the Dragon, you might as well see Gatlinburg, maybe Dollyworld, or how about zipling and whitewater rafting. It's all in the same area. They now have tandem ziplining where you and the spouse can go side by side.

Hey Ken,
If you were making the trip on your own you wouldn't think it was too early Bowling Green is booked solid.
Wife & I are also in the NE Caravan (just got back from the Stowe meet & greet) and will be going to the Glens Falls one in May.
We were part of the NJ Caravan in 2014 which is now the Atlantic, had a great time.
Checked out the routes both were taking and went with the NE group this time.
After 10 days away we're heading straight back home, will probably stop in WV around Wheeling Saturday night.
Be safe

I went to BG for the 50th Anniversary and really enjoyed it. But it was a pretty long haul from Washington State. The total length was 6600 miles and just the round trip took 11 driving days. We stayed in Nashville and also attended the GM Corvette celebration that was held at Titan Stadium in Nashville So a quick trip down to Nashville would be fun. Spend an evening on Music Row, go to the original Grand Ol' Opry (or the new one). Trips to area distilleries like Jack Daniels, Maker's Mark or Jim Beam are interesting. Also, a trip to The Heritage which is the home of Andrew Jackson. Lots of Civil War battlefields around Kentucky and Tennessee.
Do a Google search on the area and you can find lots of tourist attractions.
