Default The dreaded seat rocking

OK, so I used to think it could never happen to me as my drivers seat has always been rock solid. Well, just noticed going to the gas station the other day, it's got the rock in it now. What is the fix for that? Is there a kit you can order or some parts you can buy to fix this? Very annoying!!!

yes. there are 4 nylon spacers on the seat tracks. Not expensive, but you ave to take the seat rails apart to replace them.

I got mine from radioflyer.

Yep...welcome to the club. Plenty of how to threads if you search...not a hard fix, but takes a little time...

In the meantime you can put seat all the way back (push back with your feet while using control) and it will stay back, mine has been like that for years. It only loosens back up every once in a while.

They're the best. I use them for all my Vette needs. Helps that they're only a couple miles from me too.

I bought a set of the nylon spaces from the Radioflyer also. Haven't had to use them yet, but the price was good and I have them just in case.

Just to be sure, which one of these 2 problems are you experiencing? Or is it both?

Sliding seat:

Rocking seat:

Besides the problem with the shims, there is also the possibility of 1 or 2 flanges at the rear of the seat track being bent or broken.

This video explains in a very detailed way the replacement process of both, shims and flanges.

I bought some toilet seat washers from Ace Hardware and trimmed them to fit. Been in there 6 or 7 years now and no movements.

Did mine the other day and it wasn't very difficult. Only need a few tools and a couple hours.

I had the rock in my Z but never got around to it. In this car, the ’rock’ feels more like a clunk, but I’m going to address it this time, because it now annoys me.
