Non run flat tires
Hi all, I want to get rid of my run flat tires due to noise and harshness of ride, I am wondering what most of you are going to or just a general consensus on what is available. As always any help is appreciated.

I went Michelin Pilot Super Sport , but on aftermarket wheels. Much, much quieter and handling.

I got rid of the run flats on my car and replaced them with Continental Extreme Contact tires. What a difference from the run flats.

I have been very pleased with the Hankook Ventus V12 EVO tires that are on my car.

as mentioned this is one topic that has been beat to death over the years....what I think is good is really irrelevant to you, I live in Florida, you live in PA.....I can use Summer tires year round.....I had non runflats on my 99 C5 for over 100K and did the same with my wifes 02....I ran BFG KDW's and she ran Toyo Proxes...the difference was mainly because Toyos didn't offer a 335/30/18......both were excellent for us. My first set on non RFT was Michelins and to tell you the truth they are overpriced in my opinion.
Now aside for your location you need to consider what kind of driving will you be doing. Is this a weekend pleasure car, drive it to shows only, some cruises. If you aren't going to be doing any hard driving and its a weekend cruiser don't waste money on some high performance $$$$ tires when a good set of Bridgestones will do the job.

I've been very happy in terms of both wear and performance on my Hankooks EVO2. The biggest improvement however came from ditching the Goodyear runflats. I wouldn't overly stress about brands. I would find a good tire dealer that you have confidence in and select a known brand in your price range. The advice from pewter99 is right on the Mark. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

What is important is what kind of ride do you want. I discussed it with a tire dealer. Michelin for me since I wanted a soft ride and didn't care about how long they would last. The harder the tire the longer it will wear.

Imho, the Hankook Ventus V12 EVO are probably the best bang for the buck, and graduating from run flats is about the best thing you can do. The all around ride and handling is much improved.
