Just bought a 2004 C5 in Blue (pics)
Hi I just wanted to introduce myself and show the car that I purchased. My name is Sean and I’m 27 years old, from New Jersey. The car I bought is a 2004 C5 6-speed and it’s a “Le Man Commemorative” edition.
Its got 82,000 miles, 2 owner car with no accidents and pretty good service records on the Carfax. A mechanic I took it to for the first oil change who used to own a Corvette body shop said it was in good condition, only recommendations were new tie rods soon and the rear shocks.
Was $13,000 a fair price? It has an intake and a Billy Boat Bullets exhaust.
I am looking forward to contributing and making this car into something special. What do you guys recommend for first mod?
-Sean

Sounds like a decent deal Sean, and the 2004 Commemorative Edition makes it more desirable - Happy Motoring!!

For a 2004 I’d say you got a good price. Just enjoy the car.

Congrats and welcome! Love the color! Question; why block out the plate numbers? Everyone on the road sees your numbers every day! Never understood the rationale behind doing that... lol

I have owned several corvettes over the years but just recently bought a new toy ... a 99' FRC, Red with 25k original miles on it. $16,500 cash. I am the 4th owner. When it was purchased in 1999, it spent its first 1200 miles as a corporate fleet car for what was then Diehl Chevrolet. Then it was sold in 2000 to a gentleman that owned it for 17 years. He passed on ... and another mature gent bought it and owned it for about a year. He drove it less than 100 miles during ownership. Clean car fax. Exterior and interior are perfect. I'm really happy with the purchase. I found 3 FRC's with low mileage during my search. This one with 25k, a 2nd with 34k and a 3rd with 42k. All red FRCs. All just as nice as the previous one and all similar in price. Since all were so close, I opted for the lowest mileage car.
For Mod #1 - I just ordered a set of black, ZR1 red lip wheels and will have the car lowered 1/2" in front and 1" in the rear. This will be done early October
Mod #2 - Vararam install, Hurst Short Throw, Kooks Headers, Borla X Pipe (already has bola stingers installed) and Texas Racing cam and tune. These will be done prior to Christmas 2018.
Mod #3 - Front lip spoiler, Side Skirts, rear deck lid spoiler and PPF. This will be finished Spring 2019 just in time for the spring/summer/fall driving.
This are likely the only mods I will do. I am not going to track the car and race it. I want something that is fun to drive that makes me feel connected to the car and the road.

I've owned mine for 7 years now. Has 70K on it. Yours looks great. I think that you got it for a very fair price.
Remember the lowest price corvette is not necessarily the best deal for the long run; the best maintained vette is the best deal for the long run.

Since we're posting from NJ, I'm from Jersey too but I don't live near any exit. Too far in the woods. Yeah, we got woods in Jersey, that's why we are called the Garden state. All kidding aside, my nephew came to visit with his new wife from Minnesota. When we were driving around she was surprised NJ had trees and grass. She actually thought NJ was completely concrete. Not a joke.
