If a person plans on doing a lot of open roof driving, then they should go with a vert. I want a targa top just because I think they're much better looking, but I couldn't care less about driving around with the top off...

Talk you out of it? Easy. If you need to take out a loan to buy a 17 year old toy, don't. These can get expensive quick if they have problems.

You have a very good point. But still it's unlikely I'll be throwing down $15,000 in cash. There is always a trade-off between buying a newer vehicle and hoping for no problems. And buying a an older car for less money and hoping not to spend more later. I've also owned enough cars to know that buying a new car doesn't guarantee that you aren't going to have problems. And now you are out the extra money for a newer vehicle and the repairs are even more expensive. Sometimes it's a crap-shoot. But there is a 0% chance I'm going to lay down over 50 grand for a new one.

Thanks! I'm not familiar with aftermarket accessories for the Vette. I thought this setup looked different and not so far over the top that it looked trashy.

Looks like the price has dropped to $12,000.
