Trying to get new tires for the z06 and the local tire shop says they can't get anything but the fronts and they even called tire rack. All they show are the goodyear F1s and the rears are backordered.
What sizes will work? i can find the right size at tirerack but if i search 2001 Z06 there are no options available.

Toyo Proxes T1 not available?

In the future, it could be problematic getting the rear Z06 tires in the OEM size so maybe something like 285/35-18 may work? They would fit the 10.5" rear wheel width and not be a lot shorter than the 295.

On tirerack website. Simply ask for the rear tire size only. A whole selecion of tires are available. Click on the "sizes" tab just under the pictures. look for the front size. you can click on the size and then see if its in or out of stock.
usually the reason tirerack narrows down to only supercars is due to the service description not matching for all the other tires...

I am thinking about starting my own small business called find people tires for their C5 ZO6 wheels.
The Toyos are out there in the proper sizes.
If you adjust the size up or down one in the front and maybe even down one in the rear the possibilities are nearly endless.

Continental has the new sport contacts in 275/40 17 and in 295/35 18. I actually bought new tires recently I’m running the sport contacts in front 275/40 17 and a set of michelin pilot super sport 295/35 18 in the rears. The new sport contacts replace the dws and were made to compete against the pilot super sport.

The Extreme Contact Sports are very comparable to the Super sports, I believe that was Continental's goal in mind in competing with the super sports unlike their DWS's. I really like the super sports because a buddy of mine has a square set up of 305 super sports on his C6, the ride, noise and handling is very nice. Also they don't feel so greasy over time. My setup is a bit off because of the extreme contact sports in the front, but I mainly went with it because the lack of PSS sizing for the fronts. But after reading many reviews stating that the contact sports are very similar to the PSS I bought them. I do like the traction I get from the PSS, only have 1200 miles on them, but it was 38 degrees F the other night and with some heat in the tires I was able to roll on WOT in 1st gear and it didn't spin, 2nd gear stab WOT no spinning what so ever. Only mild bolt on C5 z06 383 RWHP. I wish the new 4S were made in the C5Z oem rear size, as those are a slight improvement in dry handling and even more in wet handling. Though if it were up to me and wasn't driving my C5Z as much as I do now. I would go with another set of oem front C5Z wheels and run a square set up of 275-40-17 Nitto NT05, sure you won't get alot of mileage out of them, but the enjoyment of driving is worth it.
